Works perfectly for me. It should work fine whether it's on the wireless charger or even in your pocket with CarPlay and Android Auto.

phone's GPS and cell signals are working just fine w/ the mount.

even though i'm on software v3.5.x already w/ AA, i'm still keeping the mount on as i actually find it useful for grabbing the phone in & out of the car!

Yes I observed the same and still have the mount even with CarPlay! And I have a heavy 17 Pro Max with a case and it holds well.

I was looking for a clean-looking way (relatively) to mount my phone until the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

After testing out a few different options, this is the mount location and the simple phone mount that works for me:
Lamicall Car Vent Mount
($10 w/ promo code LAMICV09T - Actually a wireless charger too, although I'm only using it as a mount)

The air vent hook grabs well to the back of the Clearview Cockpit plastic trim piece, and the rubber padding gives it a snug fit on the screen's bottom edge.

A friend of mine made this adapter for my air vent. It snaps on pretty tightly and holds securely. Need to find 12V nearby and hardwire it.

She made it specifically for this MagSafe charger, but she said it can be used with almost any other device that has a 17mm ball joint head. The only thing is, the vent size on the driver’s left is slightly smaller from the one on the right, and the right adapter should probably be a bit larger.

Forget the controls, what about the steering wheel? Does it get in the way of your left hand while driving or do you need to pay attention and work around it?
 
I'm curious if the vents in the Air are similar enough that this would work? Anyone happen to know?

I'm taking my Gravity in for service in about a week, and I'll most likely get an Air as a loaner. I can ask her to design something similar for the Air :)

Keep in mind that the vent gap size varies depending on the location, and this specific adapter is only for the left side. I previously requested a custom version for the spot right behind the center display, and its dimensions were slightly different. You can let her know exactly where you would like to install the second adapter.

Update: Oh, I missed you have two Gravity cars :)

I bought the clip on Etsy, but when I go to buy the MagSafe mount, it says unavailable. Will the clip work with something that is, in fact, available?
