The optional Comfort Package in the configurator shows Acoustic Glass. Does anyone know if this is all the glass or just the windshield ?
What about the glass roof ?

The windshield is "acoustic" by default, on all cars, so the question should be, is the upgrade for the front windows only or rear as well?

In general, the first upgrade is to have the front side windows double-paned / thicker glass. The top upgrade is to have the rear side windows double-paned as well.

On AGT all windows are DP by default. I am surprised that GGT makes this optional. Surprised, as in disappointed.

One other advantage of "acoustic glass" in the side windows is that it blocks nearly all UV, without need for applying tint.

Hi, @marsarbu! Are you saying that some Air models sport different quality/performance glass than others? I tend to dive into the details on just about everything, and I never heard about such differences, of course other than the glass canopy option.

I don't know about the rest of the Air lineup, but the AGT comes standards with DP glass front and rear. How do I know that? the DP option doesn't show up in the configurator, but you still get it, hence comes by default.

That is different with the GGT that I've configured, where if you don't check the box, you don't the DP glass.

I think you are confusing the acoustic glass used on some luxury vehicles with the standard laminated safety glass used on all US car front windshields (along with tempered glass typically used on the sides and back). My guess is that all of the Airs have the same glass, with no difference between models. Actually, I figure none have acoustic glass, since if they had this luxury feature, I think Lucid would have touted it.

To my knowledge: acoustic glass = double-paned glass = two pieces of glass separated by another layer.

This is acoustic / DP

This is not. It's just one piece of glass

Per my AI assistant... While both laminated glass and acoustic glass are made of multiple glass layers bonded together with an interlayer, the key difference is that acoustic glass is specifically designed for superior sound reduction, using a specialized interlayer to absorb sound waves, whereas laminated glass prioritizes safety and security by holding together when shattered, even if its sound dampening capabilities are not as strong as acoustic glass.

Correct. ALL glass in a car is laminated, it says so on it. So that leaves you with the acoustic glass as the next step up and the ultimate upgrade.

Newer cars, yes, but many cars on the road today just have tempered glass on the side and rear windows.

Hahaha, we're going in circles. What I'm saying is that all cars in the last 20 years at least, they have laminated glass = tempered glass = glass has some layer of something in it that keeps it together if it breaks. You cannot see that layer, you can't tell, because it's embedded in the glass.

When I say acoustic / DP I mean two visibly separated pieces of glass, with something obvious in between, you can clearly see and feel that there are different layers. You can catch your fingernail in it. Like the photos above. Like you said, only newer and more expensive cars have it.
