Then I think they're mistaken or misspoke, as I'm pretty sure there is no conversion or retrofit offered for older Airs without the heat pump.
So wait. Essentially anyone who doesn't have a heat pump has the older AC compressor proving to be problematic? Am I understanding this correctly?

I don't remember exactly when heat pumps were made standard, but this is probably mostly true. 2022 and 2023 Airs seem to be the ones with the faulty compressors.
 
Dec 2022 build date here but service date is mar 2024 with 44k miles.

So how prevalent is this? Assume it’s also correlated to mileage? I’m hoping to have this go to 100k miles without major investment outside of wear items.

We need the part number from the original poster. I’m now curious if I have the same PN. If this becomes more problematic, I wonder if a preemptive replacement would save all the other AC system components from needing replacement.
