I wondered if any other active referral program participants had encountered this...
A couple months ago, I had completed seven referral deliveries, with an eighth one on order. When I reached that point, I replaced my referral code on the forum with the word MAXED below my profile, as I had received a couple unsolicited referrals.
Shortly thereafter, a nice sounding note from Lucid appeared on my dashboard telling me that my referrals were so popular that I had used them all up, and that my account would be locked until next year.
I was a little surprised that they did this before my eighth referral was delivered, but was not too concerned about it until that last referral moved to a 'vehicle canceled' status. This made me wonder if this last order was my first referral to fall through, or if the buyer had to rebook with someone else's code to get their discount, as that particular referral was an unsolicited one.
Since then, I have made attempt after attempt to resolve this. I have been told more than once that my code would be reinstated, but it has never happened. ( I did tell Lucid not to reinstate my code unless they could assure me that another eighth order would not immediately relock my account, and then possibly cause that buyer to lose their referral discount in the process.)
It’s frankly not all that big a deal, but it’s also a problem that should have not have happened in the first place, which begs the question why fixing it would be so difficult. At this point, I’ve given up. Has anyone else encountered this?
Thankfully, Lucid’s automotive customer service is far and away better than the way they handle fairly mundane administrative matters like this.
