After ten weeks I just received my leased AT 2025 from Dulles Coachworks (body shop) in NoVA area.

Im not posting to complain about the $10k it cost to repair what my insurance company (Erie) said could be done for half.

But since DCW is one of only two approved body shops in our region, we were at their mercy.

During those ten weeks I received a grand total of 20 text messages with "updates" on the "progress" to my vehicle.

My rental car return was revised four times and on the fifth attempt they demanded I return the car. I understand. It was only ten weeks.

I was out a car for three days before I got the call to pick up the car.

I paid $4000+ in rental charges. Add the $1000 deductible and it was $5000.

I was out a car for three months of lease payments.

Since Lucid is responsible for restricting who can do approved work on leased cars, they ought to have delivery requirements with partners to ensure a fair experience.

Lucid has washed their hands of me. I had requested they share in cost of payments I made after 5 weeks and some recognition on the car rental charges.

Three more months before I turn in the car, and desperately hoping my car doesn't get dented in the meantime.

And I thought keyless entry was my greatest headache.

Happily looking forward to saying goodbye.

Hey thanks for letting us know.

Lucid is in a "Catch 22" situation.

Specifically,

> Since there are (relatively) few numbers of Lucids around, they can't afford to have a network of body shops (and Service Centers).
> in my main home in Arizona, there is only one authorized Lucid body shop. In contrast, Rivian has 6 authorized body shops in the Greater Phoenix Area.
> 1-1/2 years ago, while at my second home in Sausalito, one of my rear fenders on my AGT came dislodged because one of the attached "eyelets" was broken. I took my AGT to the only authorized Lucid body shop in Marin County. They informed me I had two choices, [1] order a new panel from Lucid and wait weeks and many $$ to get it fixed, OR [2] the body shop fixes it by "welding" an attachment point to my flapping rear panel for $165 of labor. I think you guessed right on what I opted to do.

My point is:

> in order for Lucid to grow in volume and revenue, they must address the questions of their Service Centers and 3rd party body shops.
>their current post-sales infrastructure (Service Centers, body shops, regular maintenance such as tire replacement and rotations, wheel alignments, etc.) are grossly inadequate to serve a large market.

Although I can't speak on behalf of Dulles, I do know that the folks that run the CRN (collision repair network) for Lucid hold us to a very high standard, let alone with how challenging it is to even join the program. Did you speak to customer care at all? This type of complaint would route to the collision team for further investigation.

There's only one warehouse that serves all of the body shops in the country (in Phoenix), and I've heard that it can take over 3 weeks to receive parts via truck freight to the East coast. You didn't mention if you were at fault for the damages or there was a 3rd party insurance that handled it for you. In some states, the rental car fees are owed from beginning to the end of the job, regardless of how long the repair takes (if you are a claimant, not an insured).

In touch with CS nearly twenty times in three months.

They were never willing to attempt to give estimates of completion at any point. I couldn’t even get a response when the car was to be released a week later.

This was an uninsured motorist so only my insurance company and them.

No hold ups for payment.

Just giant black holes of silence followed by lots of platitudes.

Rental payments depends on what you have on your insurance policy. Nothing to do with Lucid. Service does take a while, one of things that you have to deal with when buying from a new car company. No, they won’t cover lease payments when you didn’t use your car. No one does. Why would a car company cover lease/finance payments if your car is in service/repair?

But agree, they need faster turnover with service. Hopeful new leadership will promptly address these issues. Old team had no clue and left a big mess to clear up.
