I didn’t much give thought to the 3.6.0 release notes saying, “Enjoy improved call quality with enhanced voice clarity and reduced background noise for a more natural conversation experience.” However, I discovered one very pleasant surprise in the software update. If you have the built-in navigation on, the navigation voice directions are completely canceled out!
I’ve gotten used to apologizing for the background navigation voice directions being a distraction (I have it fairly loud). When I apologized for the navigation distraction during my latest call, the person on the other end the line said they didn’t hear anything other than me.
It was a long phone call with many navigation voice directions. At the end of the call, the other party said they never heard any navigation callouts and I was coming in very clearly the entire time. I’m looking forward to not having to scramble to mute the voice directions during my business calls.
This is a fantastic improvement to the microphone signal processing and call quality. Thanks, Lucid!
