Are Lucid’s air and gravity re-purchase/lease rates high, high enough to have a long term view to get people in their vehicles this month/quarter?
I am truly uncertain about this given the sometimes very passionate displeasure with the service, support, sales, software.
If the data are strong, I would like to see lucid ads with born in the USA blaring at times in the background and the we will accept any reasonable off to help transition the US off Iranian oil, described in more emotional/patriotic terms of course.
Get rid of all the incentives and let people offer their one best price offer against msrp and monthly loan/lease payment.
If Lucid’s is going to continue having industry leading products and has strong recapture rates, invest a little in the future and accept offers even if you have to lose a little money in some cases. It is also getting the brand out there now at a time when there is a glaring opportunity, but only if lucid is capable, are they?
Probably too risky psychologically, but what is the worst thing that happens, they sell their inventory and everything they can produce this quarter, hit their rev number and maybe miss the earnings number a little due to incentive discounts, from an investor perspective (I am one, unfortunately so far, for full disclosure)that would be the best quarter result vs forecasts maybe ever, not sure. The margin on air and gravity sales are noise compared to the costs associated with ramp up for mid size platform vehicles, so why not?
