Lucid Gravity
Wanted to see if others are running into similar problems with their Gravity.

Since taking delivery of our 2026 Gravity (Grand Touring) in December, we've had recurring issues with the 2nd row seats (they've been replaced and repaired multiple times but the problem keeps coming back) along with some intermittent drive system/cooling errors. Between the various repair visits, the car has been out of service for over 80 days total.

Earlier this year, Lucid's own service team told us the 2nd row seat issue had actually caused a halt on deliveries while they investigated it, so it doesn't sound like this was unique to our car.

We've since opened a formal replacement/repurchase request with Lucid and have a case number although they've been totally unresponsive other than a vague email that it is under review with no timeline. Their service team also switched from very responsive to ignoring us and the ongoing problems since we opened this replace or repurchase case over 40 days ago. We opted out of their required arbitration when we bought the car, so we are now beyond state mandated window for them to resolve the issue meaning we can now move ahead with our state's lemon law process.

Not trying to tell the whole story here — mainly curious whether others have run into:
  1. Recurring 2nd row seat problems that keep coming back after repair
  2. Drive system or cooling-related errors/warnings
  3. Lucid's service responsiveness dropping off after opening a replacement/repurchase case
Would appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if the seat issue sounds familiar.

I’ve had no success on repurchase, they don’t even respond. I heard they’ve had 8 lawyers quit so they might not even have one to respond.

What’s up with the seat though?

The current seat issue is that the 2nd row seats don't move when you use the buttons. There's the sound of something motorized moving but the seats stay put. So you basically can't access the third row seeating.

We also have a rare but real issue with both front seats where they randomly flatten out sometimes. This once happened onto the lap of a passenger in the 2nd row and with enough force to cause pain. It's also happened when nobody is in the car - you come back and the seat is fully reclined.

I remember the auto/ghost/self reclining of the first row seats happening a lot at first (you'll find many posts if you search), but it was fixed with one of the OTAs. Weird that it's still happening to yours.
Good luck with the repurchase process and keep us posted!

My 2nd row has the same problem and is an old build as well (mine is mid 2025)? I think (hope) this issue will be resolved with the revised metal seat slide retraction pieces. I was able to gently pry my metal pieces to snap back in alignment to get the seats back to working for a short time. Prior to this, 2/3s of my second row was unusable since the seats were stuck all the way forward.
Unfortunately, my appointment to get them hopefully fixed isn't until next year because of how backed up the denver service center is.

What a strange coincidence, our 26 Gravity just experienced a drive system failure and gave us 5 minutes to pull over and stop last night. We made it to my in laws house and now are awaiting a tow to come pick it up and haul it out to Costa Mesa from the desert. Will
be interesting to see how this shakes out.

Holy smokes. If anyone comes across this post. Roadside had our Gravity picked up at 6 am. Immediately went to Costa Mesa service center. I texted them around midnight when it happened. Received a response this morning around 8 from Costa Mesa Service. The confirmed my vehicle was there, sent me a service invoice to approve and also moved all my pending service issues up. Immediately sourced and set up an Enterprise rental for a Grand Wagoneer within 30 minutes of contacting me back. Offered an uber or anything else we needed to get to Enterprise.

Lucid service is 🔥🔥 right now. Count me super impressed.
