Hello everyone, following up from my post yesterday, I have finished my road trip and have some preliminary data for the 2024 GT charging curve to share:


At a 350kw EA charger, with battery preconditioning:

2024 Lucid Air GT charging curve:

Starting at 12%, 57 miles remaining
Ramped up to 338kw the first minute.

@ 2 minutes in, 308kw and 20% SOT (+45 miles added)

@ 5 minutes in, 255kw and 31% SOT (+94 miles added)

@ 10 minutes in, 184kw and 45% SOT (+162 miles added)

@ 12 minutes in, 172kw and 49% SOT (+185 miles added)

@ 15 minutes in, 119kw and 55% SOT (+212 miles added)

@ 20 minutes in, 106kw and 62% SOT (+245 miles added)

@ 25 minutes in, 105kw and 69% SOT (+279 miles added)

@ 28 minutes in, it climbed 108kw and 73% SOT (+301 miles added)

@ 30 minutes in, 110kw and 76% SOT (+313 miles added)

Stopped charging.

I added 84kw during the charge.

First, great data. Thanks for sharing. Consistent with my experience.

That said, realistically, the advantage of the 350kW charger over the 150 kW is in the first 10min. When you do the math, the net advantage (350kW vs 150 kW charger) is to save ~5-7 minutes.

However, many 350kW EA chargers are "balanced", meaning they share the resources with an adjacent charger. Therefore, If there a a 350kW charger available, I will use it. But I rather have more chargers, 350kW or 150kW! The difference in real-life is a nit!

I noticed this as well. 350 only impacts the first few mins and most ppl including folks with cars incapable of using 350KW line up. I just go and use the 150KW with no issues.
 
Soon all EA charging stations will be 350kW shared, and there will be no worry about which charging station to choose.
