Hi All -

Sadly putting my car up for sale . . . below are the high level deets:

  • 2023 - Touring - Quantum Grey with Tahoe leather interior - asking $52,500. ( I believe sticker was $92 or $93K - and it looks like current similarly equipped from Lucid is around the same price)
  • located in Pittsburgh PA - 9401 miles on odo - no kids, no dogs, no spills - interior is as new
  • Glass canopy, heated / ventilated seats (no massage)
  • condition - mint (still smells new inside) - exceptions: ~ 0.5mm stone chip on hood (see photo) and curb rash (2 spots x ~ 2.5") on one wheel (I also have photo of that I can send). All else as new !
  • Lucid work on the car was 1 or 2 recalls performed + a couple of the "common" noise complaints (rear parcel shelf squeak and suspension rattle - both remedied by lucid)
  • Most charging has been on home 120v charge (Level 1 basically a trickle charge) and I keep it between 40% and 70% most of the time. Last Battery check was at 97.3% efficiency
  • Accessories include:
    • mobile charger (it has both 120v adn 24v adapters)
    • Lucid made Windshield and roof sunshades
    • 3D all weather floormats for front
    • wireless phone charger
    • Trunk lower compartment liner (Lucid)
I am expecting a dealer trade price later this week - which I will be transparent about - but keeping in mind trading with the e-type dealer saves me 7% on PA tax

Reason for sale - first of all - like the majority of folks on this site - I LOVE this car . . . honestly by far the nicest, quietest, fastest and all around most brilliant car I have owned. But it's a 3rd vehicle for me ("fun car") and I am struggling dealing with current and potential future depreciation. My (depreciation) loss is your gain. Further, I have found a really interesting Jag e-type in the mid $60K's that I know will have little to no depreciation that I can't keep my mind off of (and am in the process of getting PPI and purchasing assuming PPI goes well).

Please DM if you are interested. Not a huge fan of DM'ing so don't be surprised if I send my mobile number for easier dialoging / answering questions, etc. -since it's against regs to provide my mobile number here.

Photo's below of exterior (Fire Hall parking lot - sorry, not beauty shots). I haven't vacuumed out the interior in several weeks so need to do that for interior shots - but the interior is pristine. Also anything you might see in these photos that concern you is probably reflections off the pavement or trees. Paintwork is outstanding.

Doug

I am not seeing any photos?
I copy pasted them into the body of the post… Rather than attaching, I can try to do an attachment as well. When I go in and look at it, I see them there. ??

Hi -

My car is sold (traded in) - if one of the moderators could mark it as sold that would be appreciated ! ! I will be listing accessories (both new and lightly used) in marketplace in the coming days.

Rather personal question, but what did they give you for the trade-in and what did you buy in its place? Just curious.

sorry for slow reply:
$43K (worth ~ $46K to me because I save 7% in PA tax when trading vs. PP sale)
1971 Jag xke coupe - restored w/ '96 Jag running gear (AJ-16 Inline 6 + ZF4HP24 automatic)

good buy! Timeless class. I enjoyed owning an original 70 xke coupe 30 ys ago and a well done mechanical swap would add to driveability. Can you share who did the mechanical swap? Rare to hear of diff Jag running gear.
inline 6 had enough torque to be able to do rolling start in 2nd gear.

When I first read you note I thought you were saying goodbye, not good buy, ha ha.

The xke was built by a guy named Robert Boston. He is a long time car guy who made importing, buying/selling cars a business, then started building minivan conversions for physically disabled customers. His story in on his website ( https://www.eurocarguy.com/#about ) and it seems my car is shown part way through restoration at the bottom of this linked page. Numerous photos of the car are also on the Frazier Motorcars website under "SOLD" (it's a searchable site). And the AJ-16 4.0l engine is in the same league as the older e-type 4.2 l engine ~ 245 hp and 280 ft lb torque - just infinitely more reliable, with coil on plug, OBDII, etc.

Robert built this car as a one-off for himself to have while he waited for a Beacham Jaguar (resto mod company in New Zealand) to develop a carbon fiber bodied xke S3 roadster with XKR 5.0l running gear. It apparently took nearly 9 years for Beacham to develop the tooling and build his new e-type roadster. Once he received that car, he decided to sell this one which I ended up buying (not directly from Robert . . . I had to do some sleuthing to find him !). So long story short - I don't see him building another of these . . . we'll call it a "one off" at least as far as I know.

I can't wait til spring to get it out of storage and start toying with it. I'm going to try to make it as much of a grand touring car as I can . . . working to improve NVH and make the most of it's long wheelbase and modern driveline for weekend getaways, etc. I also can't wait to get back into a Lucid . . . maybe in 4 or 5 years I'll be able to find a nice used Gravity or Earth (?).
