I've often done 500+ miles in a day and spent entire days nowhere near fast chargers. Once there are fast chargers in every town with enough spots to accommodate a horde of storm chasers (most towns have numerous gas stations, each with 4+ pumps) and charging can be brought down to 5 minutes...

As a fellow storm chaser for the past 22 years, I would recommend not using an EV unless you plan to chase purely local.
