It's not just the fob, it's the access module in the car which both the fob and the mobile key (app) talk to. We can't just get fancy updated Gravity fobs for our Airs, because it's an entirely different technology on the car's side.

The dead giveaway is that I've had a stuck location in the car's nav before (many versions ago), and my phone (waze, apple maps, etc) showed the exact same thing while connected to CarPlay, then corrected as soon as it disconnected.

It's not just a software difference though, it's not something they could just turn on for you, DD Pro comes with additional cameras. Specifically, the extra side cameras in the A pillars are used in lane centering. I truly don't know if they could do it safely without those additional cameras...

AA should share the car’s GPS with the phone. It does for CarPlay now, works great.

You're right, LM2 is an improvement and replaces LM1. Supposedly LM2 is more durable / less likely to have the bubble issues reported early on here? Otherwise as far as I know it doesn't change the specs at all.
