Load Management for Lucid Home Charging Station

thanks for confirming, I suspected this was the case

Load Management for Lucid Home Charging Station

I am aware of the dip switches, but that would permanently limit the max current (the rating would even be listed with the town, so it couldn't be changed without pulling another permit). However, even though the NEC load calculations indicate my panel is nearly maxed out, in reality high loads...

Load Management for Lucid Home Charging Station

Are there any load management systems that can throttle the charging speed of the Lucid Home Charging Station based on available capacity? I have read about other brands that sell devices that work specifically with their own EVSE (such as Wallbox Pulsar Plus with power sensor accessory, for...

Anyone using Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EV tires?

There’s a dedicated EV version of the R5, presumably at least partially optimized for range and noise compared to the non-EV version. Great tires, but the car is very heavy. They have a lot of work to do when stopping or cornering on slippy roads

Anyone using Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EV tires?

I am in NY. No idea about range, there are too many variables to isolate the impact of the tires. In any case, one reason for buying a lucid was that I didn’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about range!

Anyone using Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 EV tires?

I’m sure it’s frustrating that they won’t mount your snow tires, but you are probably better off getting it done elsewhere. I was able to persuade the service center to mount mine, but they charged $400 and mounted two backwards. I had to get them remounted at my local tire shop. The service...

Charging limited due to cold battery, for 3 hours?

You’re right, it’s a charger issue. I misread the error in the app, it’s energy limited not charging limited. Thanks

Charging limited due to cold battery, for 3 hours?

It’s 23 degrees out. I plugged in to a 6kw charger about 3 hours ago, but charging speed has still not risen above 1kw, and I’m still getting the cold battery warning. Shouldn’t it have warmed up by now? Do I have to go back to the car to manually turn on battery preconditioning?

    Ok, thanks for the explanation

Mechanical noise from front of car while parked

Do they get stuck in freezing weather? Why are they trying to open when parked?

Mechanical noise from front of car while parked

There’s a mechanical noise coming from the front of the car. Sounds like something is repeatedly trying to open. It started today in freezing weather, and is occurring while parked. First time I heard it as I approached the car, but it was still happening when parked after driving for a few...

Frunk was frozen shut this morning and tore the gaskets

Personally I don’t put a cover on a wet car to avoid it getting frozen to the car.

Frunk was frozen shut this morning and tore the gaskets

This just happened to me. I was about to try a can of de-icer when I read the instructions which said do not use on ‘plastic windows’. I assumed that meant any type of plastic so I didn’t use it. I was able to close the frunk but have not checked if the gasket was damaged. Seems like a flawed...

    Hills and Bumps!!!

That is awesome. I knew the 2CV was intended to carry a basket of eggs across a field, but I didn’t know how the suspension was designed. Now I would like to see a mash up of a Lucid air with running gear from a 2CV!

    Hills and Bumps!!!

It was just a silly thought I had. Then I realized that any car mod you can imagine has already been done by somebody, so I googled expecting to find a back yard hack job. Instead I found this from Audi https://www.autoweek.com/news/future-cars/a37265670/audi-skysphere-concept/

    Hills and Bumps!!!

Yeah, it’s shocking to me that it can’t handle that

    Hills and Bumps!!!

I've been thinking about this today after my bump. Instead of a lift system, we need a variable wheel base. Move the wheels apart to improve approach and departure angles, or closer together to improve the ramp breakover angle, all without impacting the aerodynamic benefits of a low ride height.

    PSA: Check Pressure and temps!

I recently thought the ride quality had improved, then found that with the cold weather I had let the tires get down to 45 psi. I pumped back up to 49 psi and voila, I could feel every bump again! Good to know I can safely run them at 45 psi, it's not often I need the extra range.

    Hills and Bumps!!!

Thanks for the tip. The air dams are fine. I didn't have a problem with the approach angle, it was the ramp breakover angle that that caused the car to scrape between the front and rear wheels going over the apex of the ramp
