    NACS Megathread

There are just not enough chargers at current. That's why Tesla is building 164 stalls at Lost Hills, CA station and 200 stalls at Yeehaw Junction, Florida station. There were reports of long lines for Tesla Superchargers in Eclipse, such as 40 cars waiting for a small town of Van Buren...

    NACS Megathread

You have a good point, but the culprit is the government, which spells out the rules for getting the carrots. Those who don't follow the government rules don't get the carrots and those who do, like Tesla, would get the carrot reward fine with no problem. When the government gives out carrots...

    NACS Megathread

Sounds right to me. There's no downside here. I have no idea, but my guess is that CCS has a plug-and-charge protocol, and NACS is in compliance with that protocol but with a different plug format. Thus, if EA could do it, Tesla should, too. So far, it's been smooth with Ford and Rivian...

    NACS Megathread

Tesla stations are dirt cheap. In my Tulare, CA area, it's building 12 stalls for $100,000. In Texas, with the subsidies, Tesla cites the cost for the government as $30,000 per charger, while other companies want $150,000 for each charger. We are still in the very early stages of EV...

    NACS Megathread

I am for more chargers. Even with slow Tesla 400V, I still want to have an option to access it. The fact that Lucid can only charge at 50kw at a Tesla charger doesn't change my view. It's a Lucid problem as Ford and Rivian are having so much fun to access Tesla chargers as shown on YouTube.

The first NEVI-funded Tesla Supercharger is revealed in Rockland Plaza Shopping Mall, Maine: https://electrek.co/2024/04/03/tesla-supercharger-maine-first-nevi-ev-charging-station/ I am wrong to assume that NEVI requires 920V minimum. Rereading the text...

Even MORE examples of Lucid being ignored in the press...

You might have produced a first, but this article is talking about the first "mass" produced! NIO has produced 1 million of them already. No one in the world has beaten that record so far.

Adapter for charging lucid at tesla supercharger

We are not China or the EU, so the US government cannot mandate the standards for which a company should go. Although the charging format cannot be mandated, the government can provide a carrot: if you build a minimum of 4 CCS1 stalls per station with 920VDC and 150kW, you can get subsidies...

Adapter for charging lucid at tesla supercharger

There's no conspiracy here: Early birds get the worms. Ford announced the deal on 5/25/2023, and Lucid announced it on 11/06/2023.

Adapter for charging lucid at tesla supercharger

In the quote that you cited, it's 2025. Just because there's an adapter, that doesn't mean the charge is authorized. Supercharger authorization can be as below: 1. Magic Dock Superchargers that have built-in CCS1 adapter. The authorization is done by using Tesla app. 2. Your car's brand...

Lucid out of the list for Supercharge spring 2024 release

Not enough hotel chargers is still problematic. Hotels need to guarantee that a charger is reserved for me (for a fee of course).

Lucid out of the list for Supercharge spring 2024 release

Your expectations of FSD is not the same as Tesla's. Tesla described that you can summon from across the country and it will come to you with no drivers and it would charge itself with self-hooking charging cable. It would pick up rides while you are not driving to make money for you. People...

    battery degradation

A battery is degraded by both time and usage. If it is aged without any usage, it still degrades. Your battery gauge that displays 505 might not be accurate. It might need to be recalibrated to show a higher number after that.

A recent series of feature requests and bug reports…

I think basic information is important. I need to know whether HA is on or off. That could be done with different chime-on, chime-off. Currently, I have to take my eyes off the road to look at the instrument cluster to visually confirm its status. That is less ideal than eyes on the road with...

For the money, I have been very disappointed

I heard about expensive larger wheels so I purposely avoided them since I bought my first EV in 2012. Lucid GT is my fourth EV and I purposely chose 19" in 2022 and I still have the original tires. For me, a car is not a very good investment because it started to lose its value as soon as it...

2023 Lucid Air Pure - Purchase Without 360 View Camera?

A 360-degree view is a must for me. Before this, I could hit the cement block in front under the bumper. With this, I can see how crooked I park, and I can adjust accordingly.

12V failure and what to do.

I miss the good old days of backup mechanical keys in case the 12V is dead. A dead 12V should be easily accessed and replaced by a generic tow truck driver. Towing a car for a 12V replacement is a waste of resources.

Lucid out of the list for Supercharge spring 2024 release

It's "vaporware" in the same sense as the new Roadster, which was announced in 2017. Some people made a $250,000 deposit to get it soon. The Roadster is real in the form of a prototype. People have taken test rides, and it does run. But after seven years, those depositors are still waiting for...

12V failure and what to do.

It doesn't show how to pry off the clips but it does show what next after that: It says you need a big 12v battery because the small one in the video was too weak to unlock the door.

Lucid out of the list for Supercharge spring 2024 release

It's an SAE J3400, so anyone can definitely do it. However, I think it is more about money than competency. It costs more to do 1000V, while they can invest that extra money in more 400V stalls in the form of V4 (fake V4).
