The whole "don't have power from the panels" thing is something I wasn't aware of when I first installed solar. I understood it, but didn't really KNOW it was going to apply. Have learned since. Eventually I may add batteries but where I am in Arizona (not being on APS) we don't have any off...

I don't even own an EV yet, but how is more chargers going to help a state that tells people on a holiday weekend to NOT charge their cars? I understand needing more chargers but not when the infrastructure does not exist to actually use them.

Since I don't own ANY ev yet, will that automatically keep the battery charged at whatever you set things up at or will it require some manipulation via the app or whatever since you are away?

If you are connected to the grid panels are not allowed to send power out. Don't want any utility workers electrocuted. So sadly when we have power outages no solar power here either. We are tied to the grid and have no battery backup yet. Future project I hope.

I have to agree on the "wait for what you want". I personally really do NOT want a glass roof, so the idea that I must wait for metal is just fine with me. I was aware up front that the metal roof was a later availability item, so no issue in my personal world.

So, since I'm new (as in don't even have any EV yet) when you home charge the car charges to where you have it set to stop, BUT, does not maintain that SOC correct? I guess I just assumed that it would do whatever the chargers do to maintain your 80% for example SOC. I guess my thoughts were...

I did say claimed. Not necessarily expecting 406 miles in the real world, but if all of a sudden the supposed EPA rating fell under 406 then I'm not sure I'm interested any longer. I reserved based on one number, not a different range claim later on.

I think ANYONE in Arizona should by default be on the "NICE" list. Just due to the factory location!
