I wouldn't complain about the $8k damage, the Bel-Red damaged my car further and resulted in my perfectly drivable and some cosmetic damages. Insurance would of cover it.

Final update on this saga, the body shop caused more damage in the process of taking apart the car including damaging the rear windshield. Ultimately the insurance company is totaling the car. If you’re reading this, do yourself a favor and at least comparison shop between the different body...

Wow, I wish I knew before I let the Lucid certified shop took my lucid apart, damaged the rear windshield in the process and resulted in the insurance company totaling my car. It’s utterly ridiculous.

I’m still in shock, but the shop has already took apart some of the cars and damage more in the process. There’s no way back. The lesson learnt is to comparison shop before agree to let an untrusted shop work on it even if insurance give the go ahead. Most of the stated cost is labor.

The shop updated the repair cost to $40k after they took the car apart. The insurance company is considering a total as well. I might be out quite a bit of money on this one too. Sad.

The parts are probably less than 10k, at $200 per hour, does replacing the bumper really take 200 hours?

That’s what they say, a second hand touring is $90k, it’s hard to imagine replacing the bumper is more than 1/2 the value of the vehicle.
