Also, I did both things - profile reset and factory reset on different occasions and did not see any gains from factory reset. Profile switch is what fixes the missing music app issue.

Software stays at the same level, you lose all settings, including Homelink which is not linked to a profile. However, I was able to reset my primary profile without factory reset. I created a new profile, switched to it, then deleted original while being in the new one.
