    Thoughts About Negative Posts

I do notice that the sentiment really changed over the last 9 months, first due to how the Gravity launch went, and now the service woes. But I still find a lot of positivity in the forum, so here I am. There are a small number of people who are pretty repetitively bringing up their negative...

CATL: Solid-State batteries years away from the mass market

This comment from CATL doesn't surprise me. Battery innovation has been simultaneously impressive and very slow. I think it's best to buy an EV based on what's on the market today, and not worry about what (or when) cool new technology will be next.

    V 3.6 potential issues

Seems worth an email to swfeedback.

    Emad Dlala out

I think we don't know how much notice he gave. He might have given months, he might have given none, it would probably all look the same from our outside viewpoint. I've had a job where I gave almost a year notice, and some where I gave 2 weeks, and it all looked the same from the outside. It...

    Emad Dlala out

I quit a job at a large public tech firm, where I was a highly visible senior engineer. My public statement was all about how I was leaving because I want to spend more time with my wife, traveling, and puttering around in my workshop. Which is true. However it's also true that I was...

    Is service overwhelmed?

In my experience, lawyers do not like to make laughably bad arguments. Certainly not to a judge, and probably not to an arbitrator either. It's weird that we're getting multiple reports of Lucid's lawyers fighting lemon law cases with arguments that do not pass the laugh test. I doubt we'll...

Anyone else encounter a strange tear in seat upholstery?

It seems like it's now well established that the seat just isn’t sufficiently durable at that location. Hopefully that means that service will accept that it's a repair covered under warranty without any argument. Let us know.

    Is service overwhelmed?

I'm pretty sure the investor day presentation talked about updating the Air with the UX 3.0 later this year? That doesn't sound like abandoning it to me. The service problems are 100% real, however. It'll be interesting to hear what they say about that on the AMA later this week. But I think...

Goodbye and farewell after 40 months

Yup, that's exactly why I'm attracted to the EVs with very large range. Between winter temperatures, driving in the mountains, adverse wind, not using 100% of capacity, and steady battery degradation as the years go by, a long range has a lot of appeal. If I actually got the EPA range, than...

Is Lucid Panasonic battery chemistry that much ahead?

I really don't know the answer to your question. But it does seem like battery claims are shrouded in a swirl of difficult to compare stats. I doubt that Lucid's battery chemistry is fundamentally ahead of what the rest of the industry is doing for liquid electrolyte batteries. Since battery...

    Will Lucid take Cosmos reservations?

Well, probably no one hires me in marketing. Engineers make notoriously bad marketing people. 🤣

    Will Lucid take Cosmos reservations?

I think their brand identity is eminently practical cars that strive to have class leading engineering on every front, whether it be range, driving dynamics, packaging, or anything else. For all that it's problematic, the whole "no compromises" slogan actually does a decent job of capturing...

    Will Lucid take Cosmos reservations?

Fair enough. But I'll point out that Lucid is a seller of high end luxury EVs today, so I don't know that they've screwed anything up. They do need to pivot and establish more awareness in the new market they'll be targeting with the next three vehicles. But I'm not convinced that it's a good...

    Will Lucid take Cosmos reservations?

I don't really understand the perspective that Lucid's marketing or brand identity is bad. Air sells very well for its type of vehicle. Gravity generated intense excitement, and I don't know that we'd be having this conversation if the launch wasn't marred by engineering problems. I really...

Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

Well, I spend a lot of time in San Francisco, and Waymo is pretty meticulous about obeying traffic laws. To the point that people actually complain about it.

    Lucid Gravity Financing

I haven't gotten much sense for what out-of-warranty repair costs might look like from reading this forum. I assume it's not cheap, if the car has a problem. But you know better than anyone whether your Air GT has had a lot of problems or been rock solid. For the Gravity, it's getting mostly...

    Phone Key pls…

I believe that if you want Lucid to hear feedback like this, it's still probably best to send to the swfeedback email address.

Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

I've never lived somewhere the police would ticket a driver in the left lane who is going the speed limit but obstructing traffic. I want to move to that alternative universe!

Lucid Gravity UX 3.6 is here!

It'll be interesting to see how our sense of road manners slowly changes (if it does) as more and more vehicles are driven by computers that actually follow the traffic rules.

    When Are We Seeing Cosmos?

Personally, I think it'd be a mistake to start generating Cosmos press if Gravity owners are complaining about the state of software, as that's likely to leak into coverage of Cosmos and potentially cause people to dismiss it. Hopefully they've turned the corner with Gravity, but we shall see.
