Presumably the tech only gets the key for the vehicle they are assigned to work on and the vehicle only allows that key for a limited amount of time. Who knows though, somehow programmers screw up basic security all the time.

I used to have to open the door on my Model 3 for the button to work but they fixed it awhile back and now I can just walk up and press the button. It's too bad the button on the charge cable isn't part of the NACS standard. How do you pull the charge cable if the car is charging?

Pulling the charging connector while DC current is flowing would be very bad. DC will hold an arc for much longer than AC (which goes through zero 120 times a second) and damage the connector. And of course DCFC is much higher current than the EVSE.

You could take off the batteries and put them inside the car. I would never put fancy bikes on one of those hanger bike racks where they swing around and scratch up the frame. Just looked up the weight of my 1UP rack and it's 47lbs in 2 bike configuration and 86lb with 4 bike capacity.

Yeah, not sure why they don't say what the load-carrying capacity actually is... Anyway, they do sell a hitch bike rack ($1238!) that has a capacity of 65lbs x 2 and a weight of 39lbs. So I guess "load-carrying capacity" is at least 169lbs...

It's sad that charge port location isn't standardized. The short cables on V3 superchargers are so nice. The long V4 cables are horrible, they've even added an extra handle on some of the stalls now because they're so awkward.
