That’s the point of turtle mode. Think of it as a “safe mode” in which everything runs cooler and slower, specifically so as *not* to damage the motor or other components.

Turtle mode seen from several problems but many previous posts report replacement of rear drive unit.

Definitely not a motor failure as the car is very good at throwing up errors that will put it into turtle mode if that were true. User error.

The clamp that held the coolant hose got loose, and it starting rubbing against the front axle, causing a leak. At least it was driveable, and did not go into turtle mode.
