    Drive System Fault Megathread

I believe those were early models. We haven’t heard lately about turtle mode. I believe Luicd has fixed this in newer models. Also, if SC is far then they will have mobile visits where they will come to your house to fix until it’s a serious issue. Lastly, I’m sure you may have use referral to...

    Finally first time seeing turtle

SA actually didn’t drive. I just login to my mobile app and saw only 1 mile gained. I think he trailered a loaner to my neighborhood, dropped the loaner and picked up my car and loaded back to trailer and tow it back to Service Center.

    Finally first time seeing turtle

Yeah, I was wondering if this loaner had turtle mode without turtle mode indicator when a Toyota Corolla actually cut my lane. Software limiter is good to keep me in my lane.

    Finally first time seeing turtle

Turtle mode showed up for me as they were driving my car out of the showroom. I went home with a loaner and they delivered my car a few days later after they replaced some module under the frunk. 8,000 miles since and no issues.

    latest repair

Well my tetrad failure appears to be related to water intrusion at the charge port. They are replacing components affected and expect it will not be at risk for repeat. So the water must have affected said board. Anyway, I hope that’s it. But they then found a nail in the sidewall of a rear...

...the wipers run automatically and you can see in the rain. Similarly it cuts power to battery/rear motor to protect them so you’d get turtle mode but are not bricked and can still at least drive 50mph, however I chose to stop ASAP. There’s a small number of vehicles this failure has happened...

    Service wait times?

I have also began just directly reaching out to my service area Lucid expert, James. He has encouraged me to do so and he even shoots me a correspondence from time to time to make sure everything is peachy with my ride. Very happy with that level of dedication.

    Service wait times?

...people I’ve dealt with before have amazed me with how good they were (the 8pm Saturday call from one of their reps when my car went into turtle mode blew me away), a lot of times it’s going to be CS reps who may not have high level tech training or easy access to quick appointment scheduling...

Turtle Mode ruins the road trip

...with mine, 18k miles on it, and one time it broke on the way home from NYC to Rhode Island in Mystic Connecticut. I got the same 50mph turtle mode, I suspect what this type of Turtle mode does is it converts the car to two wheel drive (depending on which motor, front or rear, it detects a...

    And, again . . .

Ah yeah I did get a drive system error but the car still drove completely normal. That was awhile ago so the vehicle may have some software upgrades since then which deliberately power limit the car to protect it when an error is thrown, not sure. Interestingly Matt Watson on CarWow just a...

Any one seen this frunk issue before?

Yes, I suppose this record summer temperature may cause more latch misalignment due to heat expansion.

Any one seen this frunk issue before?

...re-alligned, The Frunk lid would not close completely on both sides and the car would issue a Frunk Open warning along with a shift to Turtle Mode. The easy, temporary fix was to push the lid down on the slightly open side until it clicked closed. The latch realignment is supposed to make...

Coolant Leak and Other Issues (DE)

Others on this forum have reported turtle mode limiting their cars to speeds as high as 56 mph. That would square with your experience. However, our car's speed fell to 2 mph with the throttle to the floor and then stopped altogether in a matter of yards, although the display said that the car...

Coolant Leak and Other Issues (DE)

...things controls cooling for the left battery pack and rear drive motor, the car essentially became power limited and front wheel drive turtle mode, and no damage was done, so that wasn’t just “low” coolant, that was no coolant being pumped, so I suspect @hmp10 car didn’t suffer damage. The...
