Great report. Thanks for sharing. I have had similar experiences but not the turtle mode thing. That must have been scary. I personally find the seats very comfortable. My wife who is the world’s best complainer says our Lucid is the most comfortable and most enjoyable road trip vehicle of all...

    Electrify America Overpriced?

My point about large inefficient EV’s is not a comment about the Lucid Air, which is a wonderful, amazing, highly efficient EV. The problem is the Ford Lightnings, GM Hummers, Porsche Taycans that are so inefficient they are actually consuming fast charging capacity at EA sites, clogging it up...

    Electrify America Overpriced?

The two answers to the OP’s original question about why drive an EV are: 1. To save money. But, you must charge at home. 2. To have fun with a really great vehicle, enjoy it as a once in a lifetime technology shift in the realm of personal transportation. My Lucid is the best car I ever owned...

Help! Drove Over a Curb. Advice Appreciated

I did the same. One tire lost air pressure. I replaced 2 tires through my local Lucid service center. If you go to Tire Rack or Discount Tire make sure they use the exact tire otherwise the ride and handling will not be the same.

Why is the Pure RWD so much lighter?

The half-shafts which are the two driven axles from the motor to the wheel ends will have some impact on the weight difference in addition to the motor itself.

Planning trip from Chicago to Aldie Virginia

I have become very comfortable on road trips running down to 10% SOC before charging. Power is best at lower SOC and I regularly get 220-240 KW between 10-40% SOC (Touring). I charge to no more than 75% because power fades to maybe 60KW above that. This saves a lot of time. My driving style is...

I don’t know how to share it with Lucid.

    Options to set destination

Is there an option to set the GPS destination by current location or from lat/long coordinates from google maps when the location does not have a street address?

Lucid Achieves Record-Breaking 5 Miles Per kWh Efficiency

The EPA cycle for the Air 19 inch is already 4.6 or so. Improved motor efficiency and better optimized regen/inverter programming could get the Air to 5. Midsize vehicle that’s 800 pounds lighter could get 6 in a couple years. In fact that will be required by then to stay best in class.

    Zeekr 007 - A baby Lucid Air

Looks very very nice. No way it gets over 5mi/kWh in the real world at 70 mph. But then again that is Peter’s stated target. Polestar (Geely) and Tesla are two brands manufactured in China hence the logical comparison.

Do you think Lucid will make cheap cars?

Profit is maximized generally speaking at higher prices. Lucid is not maximizing profit but trying to stay relevant in the marketplace amidst a very narrow product line and high interest rates.

    Winter Tire PSI

Of course it has a cushier ride at 45. That’s not what I said. The ride and handling is optimized at 49. At 45 handling is noticeably sluggish.

Do you think Lucid will make cheap cars?

2026 is fully 2 years away. Maybe they will reconsider price points and strategy.

Do you think Lucid will make cheap cars?

I sincerely hope Lucid remains a premium brand with premium product, premium style, premium technology, and premium engineering, plus premium service, at premium prices. They should absolutely not go below $60-65k or risk losing the brand equity they created. No need to become the Ford Model A...

    Winter Tire PSI

Lucid engineers are not idiots they are very smart. The suspension dynamics are carefully tuned. Follow their instructions. The Touring with 19 inch rides and handles better at 49psi than at 45psi. So don’t second guess the engineers. Pirelli is also correct, do not inflate the tire to 60-70psi...

    Winter Tire PSI

Max tire pressure is measured when cold. All tires increase in pressure when in use. That is accounted for in the design and cold pressure spec. Tires have max strength at max pressure. Sidewall failures will occur more easily at lower tire pressures.

    Space ghost coast to coast

Charging 20 to 80% in a GT in 25 minutes is an average of approx 160 kw for the entire charge. That is substantially higher than what I am able to achieve in a Touring. Typical charge session for me starts at 220-240 kw and ends at 70-80 kw.

BMW Concept Skytop: A STUNNINGLY beautiful BMW!

Front half looks like the always beautiful 8-series. The back half looks like something costing $300k+ straight from Italy. Maybe there’s some life coming back at BMW.

    Space ghost coast to coast

4 hours of driving is 280 miles which is 70 kWh best case. My charging usually averages 95-100 kw over the entire charge (Touring) so that is closer to 45 min for charging every 4 hours. I prefer to stop every 3 hours which equates to 200 miles, 50kwh which is a 30 min charge. Rule of thumb...
