Why Lucid defaults to smooth drive mode- found answer

So many questions that could be answered by a real time energy use display option.

Well here it is Tesla Plaid versus Lucid Air Sapphire on the same day in the same place~ no excuses!

I have a good friend who is going to buy a Gravity to replace a minivan. I'm looking forward to it. I'm not sure I have a use case for the Gravity. Now if Lucid offered a nice trade in deal for the DE, I could be persuaded. I'm keeping the Sapphire.

Well here it is Tesla Plaid versus Lucid Air Sapphire on the same day in the same place~ no excuses!

Late to the party here. If you are comparing cars, drop reaction time that's comparing drivers. Stock to Stock, once you start the mods there is no end point. Buying the Sapphire to be a track car, you would be very disappointed in the number of laps your going to get at a track day...

    Sapphire at COTA

uploaded a more polished video from COTA. One session on same tires I drove to and from Texas from South Carolina.

How Long Do You Plan To Hold On To Your Lucid Air?

I would agree the car you have is plenty. A good friend of mine is going to replace his Odyssey with a Gravity. Also seems like a great choice. The Sapphire is a much better car than the Plaid, but acceleration wise, it's pretty close, so you have already experienced it. I do like the...

The good, bad and the ugly

My wife enjoys the Lucid, but the few charging issues we have had make her nervous to take it on her own if a charge is required. Her next car will probably be a plug in hybrid. The one after that will almost certainly be an EV. Framing your experience as an EV is not for you at this time is...

How Long Do You Plan To Hold On To Your Lucid Air?

I had planned to sell the DE when I got the Sapphire. The market is soft and the DE is worth more to me than I could sell it for. I am thinking of getting a set of 19" rims so the DE can handle road trips with more inclement road conditions.

How Long Do You Plan To Hold On To Your Lucid Air?

The Sapphire only weighs 200lbs more than the DE. I can guarantee it is not a step backward. The handling is significantly improved as is traction control. The steering is also significantly better in feel and response. On the highway aside from a little more tire noise the two cars are...

Is it me? Lucid cruise is better?

I would say GM super cruise is industry leading. Lucid adaptive cruise is pretty good, to me ACC requires way too much steering input to prove you have hands on wheel, lane centering is ok, but in my experience super cruise is better.

    Valet Card

It would be nice if the car had a Valet mode you could choose from the pilot panel. The fob still leaves Valet(s) confused. I would pay dearly for a decent fob. The fob should be able to be used by anyone, and the basic functions of the car should be understandable to anyone who drives many...

    Vampire Drain

If you have auto lock set to “on” the car should go to sleep. I really wish they would implement a second press of the park button to put the car to sleep, so you could leave unlocked and yet let the car know you want It to sleep.

Bear logo on the driver side fender

Easy to remove if you don’t like them. I removed mine, took about 2 minutes. The DE did not have them. Or at least mine did not. Not sure when they started applying the bears.

Lucid charger -- bi-directional for powering the house

If you want to wait to buy Lucid 100 amp charger later, you could run the wire for a 100amp now with a 50 amp breaker and a 14-50 plug. When you buy the 100 amp you can change out the breaker to 100 and do any other required work then.

    Sapphire on track at COTA

Turned a 2:26 about the same as a GT4 car on a better tire. Had we been able to run recon laps, charge, and put on sticker Michelins, we think there is a 2:23. It’s still complicated to get insurance and track approval for an EV. COTA and Max track time were great. Hoping to run Mid-O and/or...

    Sapphire on track at COTA

It's so quiet even at 160. EV sound track is so tame.

    Sapphire on track at COTA

The weather did not cooperate so we could only do a few laps on the same tires I used to drive the car to and from SC to TX. Some in car video as requested.

Call Volume Complaints (on the other end)

I did not try BT only to see if that improved things. Previously I have had people surprised I was in a car using CarPlay and before CarPlay, BT. While my patience has expired for improving home link, I have patience for this fix.

    Reduced fast charging performance

Pre conditioning can help get to max if charger can provide. My experience over 2 years and 27k miles. The car does pretty well without preconditioning. I am usually using CarPlay for navigation. I’ll pre condition when I remember, but it saves a few minutes. The caveat is I’m driving in...
