The trick with charging to 100% is to not leave it there. So I try to end the charging session within a few hours of starting the long trip.

I think something is overheating. Your outlet does not appear to be the heavy duty type suggested for EV charging. If you have a family member or neighbor with either a 15-50 outlet or EV charger, you could rule out a car issue if it successfully charges with another EV charger or your mobile...
