Could be. I was just trying to figure out why we haven’t seen and GT deliveries yet even though they have apparently built quite a few already.
The DE delays make sense to me. It’s pretty clear that it wasn’t something planned and they made a last minute pivot due to supply chain constraints...
Interesting that your SA says that the CARB issue was specifically for GDE and not all gravities. If that's the case, then I'm wondering why they haven't yet delivered any GGTs to CA. Could it be that they're holding those deliveries because they don't want GTs to go out before DEs as that might...
I think there have been lots of cancellations. There are very few people that would be comfortable purchasing a $120-140K vehicle without a legit test drive. IMO they should probably prioritize getting the canceled vehicles into showrooms so that they can increase demand.
They seem to be all over the place, tbh. My wife also received a call and she never placed an order for a Gravity. So it seems they may have a reasonable number of built vehicles?
I received a call about several GGTs that have been cancelled by existing customers and are now available. Supposedly, they're already built and have VINs assigned to them.
I got contacted about the same build. In this case they confirmed that the vehicle is built and there is an actual VIN but that delivery wouldn’t be for a month or two because of logistics.
Agreed that CARB process takes time, but Lucid should have planned better for this. They're a California company that's already been through CARB certification with the Air sedan -- they should already know how this works. California is the biggest EV market, and having vehicles built but stuck...
I happened to be at at Westfield Valley Fair yesterday, and I decided to pop into the Lucid showroom to see if they had any ideas about what's going with deliveries. The person I spoke with said that the delay for California deliveries is due to CARB certification and that a lot of the GDEs for...
Oh, interesting! I placed my original order back in December and then changed it to DE a month or so ago. So I guess the Proforma is not really an indicator of anything as far as production/delivery is concerned.
This has me worried. If they can't get their act together on the administrative side of things when they're selling six figure vehicles, it makes me genuinely concerned about what the service experience will be like down the road ...
That's really frustrating. I emailed my sales advisor and he didn't seem to even know that this email went out. His guess was it's an automated message, but is unsure what triggered it 🤷♂️
