    Gravity in Atlanta

The Plaid weighs a bit over 500 pounds less than the Air Dream P. It also has considerably wider tires than the Air (265/295mm vs 245/265mm), meaning that Lucid traction control probably cuts power earlier than the Plaid's. So it's no surprise that the Plaid is a tad quicker to 60. However...

    Gravity in Atlanta

Not necessarily. Some people have reported getting VINs assigned within a couple of weeks of placing an order. Order time seems to have nothing to do with it. Nor does current Lucid ownership or order configuration. I am an original Air Dream owner (which was supposed to confer priority...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

(Ran out of edit time) . . . Addendum to above post: For context, I've seen similar problems with early-production cars from established automakers with strong quality reputations. A 2011 Honda Odyssey (an early-production 5th generation model) was delivered with a windshield distortion that...

Due to an error in the curing time of the composite trunk lids, the lid of our first Air (No. 154). was slightly warped to the point that it rubbed paint off the top of the bumper. That problem was resolved by the second Air (No. 395). The first Air had a small untinted rectangle at the bottom...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Based on the video @bbargfr2 posted, it might be more of a question not just of exterior color but of the exterior/interior color combo. Dark/dark has the most heat gain. Light/light has the least. But light exterior / dark interior can get hotter than dark exterior / light interior. And a...

Well, that was a bit unexpected. Maybe my choice of an Abyss Black Gravity with the Yosemite interior wasn't such a bad choice for south Florida. We also have an Aurora Green / Tahoe Gravity on order. When they're both here maybe I can run a similar test. After you first asked the question...

I have a bit of the opposite issue with the Air's vents. I sometimes want them to deflect airflow further away from me than their limited range of motion will allow. The best vents I ever saw were the ball vents in GM cars from the '60's. They could throw air anywhere or close simply by...

Impressions after seeing interior colors in person

I'm pretty sure it's either Ojai or Tahoe. I just can't tell which one, as I've found that lighting conditions can play huge tricks in figuring out colors from videos. If it really is Ojai, it further increases my regret that Ojai is not available in the Dream Edition.

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

I did some internet digging before ordering a black Gravity in south Florida. There actually have been quite a few studies that showed car color can add as much as 20º F to the interior of a car parked in direct sunlight. Apparently, a car's sheet metal conducts heat so efficiently into the...

I suspect most of the heat gain in the interior comes from above the belt line of the car through the glass canopy and the windows, and all the colors share those features.

The car he was driving definitely had the Tahoe interior. However, the car filmed in the showroom was harder to pin down. If it was the Ojai, it looked great. But I don't think any of the demo cars were built with Ojai?

    First Dream Edition Delivery!

Another question for @Osyris: The test drive vehicles during Press Week showed some differences in 2nd row seats between the Tahoe and the Yosemite interiors. The Tahoe interior had a strap for pulling down the center armrest while the Yosemite had a tab. Also, there was a decorative vertical...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

Interesting question. The most-registered car color in Florida is white. However, since we ordered a black Gravity down here I've started paying attention to the colors of other SUVs. A surprising number of them -- especially the gigantic ones -- are black. It's anecdotal, but my counts over...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

There are numerous black Gravities in the drone shots @Adnillien recently posted of the factory parking lot. Many of them seemed destined for Saudi Arabia, but they all come out of the same paint shop, so black cars are clearly in production. Not clear, though, whether there are Dream Editions...

Yes. My delivery advisor has added a note to the delivery instructions to just give the badges to us instead of putting them on the car.

How long to keep an EV?

I have been a lifelong early adopter when it comes to cars and consequently have usually switched cars every 2-3 years and sometimes even after a year. In fact, I once decided to lease and burned myself because a new car came out that I just had to have, and I took a drubbing on getting out of...

    Gravity Delivery Discussion

In one of the test drive videos it was mentioned that the 909 lb-ft of torque in the GT is only available in Launch Mode, with the torque in Sprint Mode being somewhere around 880 (I forget the exact number.) I wonder if the same is true with the DE? This also makes we wonder about the range...

I asked Lucid to sneak me in for a test drive in Dallas this Saturday. This was their response.

Whether it was selfish might depend on the circumstances. I booked a slot, and my partner, who is also getting a Gravity Dream, booked a slot. As they are at the same time, I assume there must be at least two test drive cars. And we are taking a third person with us who is also interested in...
