    Tesla Price Decrease

It’s the opposite unfortunately, at least in the US. Rate of increase in CCS EV sales has been far outstripping the rate of increase in CCS chargers. There is a hope that the federal funding will turn this around but whether that in itself in enough… who knows.

    Tesla Price Decrease

Abysmal seems a strange take to me. They sold the most cars in a quarter ever, and in automotive, Q1 is typically a down quarter compared to the prior Q4. Overlaid with the current economic situation and I’m not even sure I would call it “bad”.

    Tesla Price Decrease

Rivian beat their Q1 target I believe.

Dead with 10 miles of range

Yes- my understanding is most EVs are designed with a little reserve after “empty” in the same way gas cars are. In this test the spread was 7-10 miles reserve range.

    EA Behind The Ball

Ugh. I don’t know what’s going on at EA, but this is concerning:

First Tesla Supercharger with ‘Magic Dock’ for non-Tesla electric cars spotted in the US

According to Biden, 3500 open superchargers by end 2024. I believe that’s equal to the total # of EA chargers that currently exist (at least as of late 2022)...

    Tesla Price Decrease

So I could upgrade my Pure reservation to Touring and get legacy Touring pricing, the $7500 Lucid credit (ie discount) and the $7500 federal credit?

    Tesla Price Decrease

How would Lucid qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit? At $113k it’s more than double the MSRP limit. Even if there wasn’t an MSRP limit I’d imagine most prospective Touring and S buyers would not qualify due to income limits. Is Lucid definitely extending their $7500 credit to legacy...

Tesla drops price for Model S/X further

I wouldn’t shed a tear for the dealers here. They are the first to price gouge consumers for every extra dollar they can get when the market is in their favor. For a couple years dealers have been able to sell 3 or 4 year old cars for more than their new price because people needed cars and...

Ford's Remarks on the Mustang Mach-E

I loved that car- perfect for cities and was very forward looking when it came out. I’m sure they lost a ton of $ on it (carbon fiber chassis!). If they kept a focus on developing EVs, rather than seemingly forgetting about them for almost 10 years, they could have been a real leader now.

Anyone know of bidirectional charging status?

I’ll have to check that out, but wow! Still way cheaper than a bunch of powerwalls I guess.

    DreamDrive Pro

I’m not sure how these systems determine if someone is watching the road when wearing dark sunglasses. I can only think they are programmed to assume they are watching as long as their head is up and pointing forward (ie would not be able to determine if someone’s eyes are closed)

EA installations in 2022 vs Tesla

EV sales in the US were up 65% in 2022. CCS chargers (combined between EA, EVGo, Chargepoint) only up about 16%-17-%. This is a huge problem.

EA installations in 2022 vs Tesla

This seems a little sensationalist. Rivian is acting to end civilization by building their own charging network? At least they are getting off their asses and actually doing something to make the charging experience better for their customers, unlike every single other auto manufacturer except...

Ford's Remarks on the Mustang Mach-E

That definitely doesn’t sound right. They manufactured 78k MachE’s in 2022. At $2B that would put the cost of unnecessary wire at $25k per car!!

    Tesla Price Decrease

Depends on how much people drive I think. Teslas power train warranty (ie battery and drive unit) is 8 yrs 150k miles. Hyundai’s power train (which for an EV is battery and drive unit) is 10 yrs 100,000 miles. If you drive the US average 14.25k miles per year you’d get 8 years and 114k miles out...
