What a horrible experience. I had USAA for 35+ years for everything - home, couple of cars & umbrella. In the last few years service, which used to be incredibly good, had dropped off a bit. The kicker for me was when they quoted my renewal at a price about 30% more than I could get with Amica...
I don't have any suggestions for a carrier in Florida, but the figure you're being quoted isn't all that crazy. I'm paying about that # for a Touring in Delaware. (My coverage is a little bit more comprehensive because I have an umbrella policy behind it so I have to carry $250k/$500k coverage)...
Something I found out today by mistake. I set the car to maintain temperature in pet mode while going to the store for a minute. When I returned to the car to get something from the trunk I entered thru the passenger door to push the button on the pilot panel to open the trunk. It wouldn't...
After 26k miles I'm getting 3.2. Probably about 60% highway where I drive at the speed traffic allows, sometimes with a heavy foot. Locally, speed is about 60-65. Almost always use heat or a/c & all the other creature comforts - radio, seat ventilation, etc. Mostly travel in weather between...
Good observations. I too wish I had a better understanding of real-world mileage capabilities vs EPA range before I bought as I would've paid more attention to the GT rather than the Touring I got. I find the car is a pisser to drive, but wish I had less range anxiety.
I had USAA for > 35 years (for everything - cars, home & umbrella) & their quote was about 30%+ higher than Amica for the same coverage. I live in Delaware. How was your quote?
My son, who has training in high speed driving, pit maneuvers, etc., tried Sprint on a 1/3 mile deserted straightaway near me, refers to Sprint as "rocket ship". I agree & only use on rare occasions..
Good idea, but you have no idea what kind of a technological incompetent you're dealing with in me. I can turn on the tv, but I don't try anything much more advanced than that😁
Agreed. With the $5 month Sirius fee + Tidal reduction to $10.99 the combined cost is still less than the $19.99 month I had been paying for Tidal alone. It works for me.
I used to have USAA too. Had them for 35+ years & the pricing was competitive & the service was excellent on the few occasions I made a claim. However, I had a claim not too long ago on my Touring where their estimate of the damage was 20% of what the repair shop was looking for. That claim is...
I just did the trip from the East Coast of FL to Delaware in my Touring on 19". With a heavy foot thru the Carolinas, i did about 3.2. Once I got into VA (sans my radar detector) it jumped to 3.7. Once into DE, with my trusty assistant back on the windshield, & my comfort level much higher...
The software is much, much better than it was when I got my car in December '22. It's not perfect, but it is not a major headache the way it was. I have a Touring so I don't know anything about the current fabric finishes in the Pure.
To give you an idea of how enjoyable it is to drive a Lucid...
