    Frunk? “Turtle mode”?

To follow up (five days later; car still awaiting repair): Lucid confirms that "turtle mode" exists. I think it should be documented—what do you think? Turtle mode can be triggered by a frunk warning, whether or not the warning is a false alarm. I don't know what else can trigger turtle mode...

    Frunk? “Turtle mode”?

Amazing. I did push down physically on the frunk until the mistaken warning went off. It boggles the mind to think that there’s a separate, continuing frunk warning invisible to the driver that causes a sudden acceleration halt at 36 mph, again with no warning to the driver. It’s hard to imagine...

    Frunk? “Turtle mode”?

    1. The car warned incessantly that the frunk was open, though it was not. Electronically opening and closing the frunk didn’t silence the error. Physically pushing down on the frunk finally convinced the car that the frunk was closed. 2. Got on the highway a few minutes later. The car...

    CarPlay/AA Release Predictions

This is all very funny, but … Come on, Lucid! It feels as though communication with owners has gone from mediocre to dismal. (Explanations of software updates, discussed elsewhere, being an example.) Sure, software companies are understandably reluctant to give dates for future improvements...

    2.0.50

So, people are complaining that Lucid is not sufficiently transparent about the contents and effects of its software updates. For example, the latest release notes, in their entirety: “Updates, Performance Improvements & Optimizations: With this update, we’re improving the operation of your...

    Trouble at the Garage

Fob only. That’s an interesting idea. I have the impression that face recognition doesn’t work, because the car so often ignores my presence and leaves the seat in my wife’s position. Does Lucid advise turning off face recognition when you often use a parking garage?

    Trouble at the Garage

Sometimes I park my Lucid at a New York City garage. I leave the fob. Usually that’s fine, but every so often I get a panicked call that the car won’t move without the PIN. There’s no way for me to know exactly what’s happened. The garage has many employees. I suppose I could tape a note inside...

Interesting look at the future of EVs

    Different data on displays?

I appreciate that. And yet … if you were Lucid, wouldn’t you have someone quietly monitoring this forum? I would. Maybe I’m a dreamer.

Can the car remember navigation preferences?

Honestly not sure what you mean.

Can the car remember navigation preferences?

Hard to believe this problem still hasn’t been fixed. Remembering preferences and settings is such a basic part of user-friendly software design. But as of now, every time I use navigation, I have to mute the guidance all over again. Lucid?

    Different data on displays?

I would like to second this request (in case anyone from Lucid is reading). The forced redundancy of these two display areas shows how unfinished the software still is. Handling navigation and music (to choose the most frequent example) at the same time is surprisingly difficult and awkward at...

[SOLVED] Seat memory (not working) and profile information goofiness

Thanks, but no, I have that checked.

[SOLVED] Seat memory (not working) and profile information goofiness

For me, manually choosing to restore the seat position usually works. However, it usually doesn’t happen automatically when I switch to my profile (from my spouse’s). Likewise, the seat often remains in the wrong position when I get into the car after my spouse has used it, even if I’m the only...

Mobile keys and fobs — still unreliable

Do Lucid techs monitor this forum? I have to think they must. Clearly a lot of people are having the same bad experiences with the mobile keys and fobs—from random unreliability to total failure—to the extent that some recommend giving up on the mobile key entirely. Information from Lucid would...

Mobile keys and fobs — still unreliable

Meaning, just give up on the mobile key? Do you have reason to think the fob will be more reliable if there’s no mobile key?

Mobile keys and fobs — still unreliable

Even now, when I approach the car with only my mobile phone, or only my fob, it’s touch-and-go whether the car will unlock. Sometimes the mobile key won’t unlock the car even when I take it out of my pocket, wait, and press the handle. I’ve had to unlock the car through the Lucid app a dozen...

    High voltage battery fault

Based on my own recent experience I would say this is not necessarily the case. I had the same warning, and the same initial prognosis (that the HV battery and WunderBox would have to be replaced), but eventually they decided that the fault lay with the AC compressor. It seems the battery system...

    Replace entire HV battery?

My postscript: The battery didn’t need to be replaced after all. A multiday process of tests and diagnostics seemed to pin the blame on the AC compressor. This has been replaced, and I have the car back. Total time: two weeks. Fingers crossed.
