Road Trip to Prescott and Flagstaff, AZ

Just went on a short 2-day trip from Las Vegas to Prescott and Flagstaff, AZ. Charged the Lucid Touring to 90% at EA, then topped off to 100% at home - 382 miles of calculated range. Trip estimate is 254 miles. Elevation in Prescott is 5,400 ft MSL; elevation in Las Vegas is 2,480. Punched...

Electrify America to change pricing and begin charging Idle fees

Could EA write an algorithm that makes the HyperFast charger unavailable if an UltraFast charger is available at that station? Flash a message on the screen perhaps? That would increase the odds of availability to users who can actually take advantage of the speed.

    Optimal External Temp for Charging??

In town, I’m still taking advantage of the 3-year freebie but I tend to disconnect when the charge rate plummets. Yeah, typically it’s around 70% the last month or so. I’ll keep notes on what happens when the weather cools.

    Optimal External Temp for Charging??

Trying to beat the heat by charging at home. Guess what? Autel charger ratcheting down to 4.8kW - half of the maximum where it started. Fans on the Lucid are at a dull roar. Leaving my garage door open to help ventilate. It's 7pm and still at 109 degrees. On the plus side, Lucid technology...

    Optimal External Temp for Charging??

BTW, the car fans continued to run after I parked my car - lost 2% charge doing that. I'm going to leave the garage door open and run my evaporative (swamp) cooler from now on during the summer months.

    Optimal External Temp for Charging??

Yes, went out early this morning when the temp was only 101! Got 147kW at 19%SOC then tapering to 40kW at 77% before I disconnected. In about 40 minutes.

    Optimal External Temp for Charging??

It's 113 here in Vegas today, and the EA chargers are performing abysmally - 3-20kW. I gave up.

Mobile Connector vs Chargepoint or Juicebox or blah!

Setup of my Autel was a snap. As soon as it powered up, it went in Search mode and updated the firmware. MotorTrend gives the Autel charger and app very favorable ratings.

Costco Summerlin in Vegas has the Pulsar on sale for $499. Also Autel 40A at $399.

Your electrician must have eaten his Wheaties. Man, I can't imagine bending those stiff wires. #6 was tough enough.

    Charging Speed

Just replaced the receptacle with a Bryant 9450FR. I'm glad I have the 1/4" torque wrench. I don't think these 70+ year-old hands could have "wrenched" 75 in-lbs from a torque screwdriver. The torque wrench made it much easier. "Muscle-ing the receptacle into the J-box wasn't much fun either...
