I ran into the same issue with AAA.

    Insurance Megathread

I called Costco Connect to get a quote (without VIN) and was told that Connect would not insure cars over about $100K, and they referred me to Progressive for a quote on the AGT. This is in NC, and it may be different for other states. Connect is essentially going through an independent...

    Bloomberg Review of Lucid Air

Thoroughly agree. What a garbage review.

    Leak??

My SA said that it is highly unlikely you will get a Lucid for a loaner. He also said you probably won't get a car comparable to a Lucid. I asked if that meant I would get a Toyota Carolla or something like that, he didn't say no. There is nothing in the commitment that says they have to give...

    Grand Touring Tracker (Archive)

The wording on the price increase is ambiguous at best. Must have been an engineer who wrote up the main notice and footnotes. LOL! The main notice says you have until June 30 to confirm your reservation if you made your reservation before June 1. The footnote(1) in the details said you have...

    Tire balance?

Yeah, I would bring the steering linkage to their attention. Your vibration on the turn kind of implies a loose steering linkage, with the cause being any number of possibilities, although loose linkage on a new car would be unusual.

    Tire balance?

If the toe in is not within spec you can still drive straight but you might have steering problems, and your tires will be useless after a couple of thousand miles. You may also have a steering linkage problem, such as bad bushings, improperly torqued bolts, etc.

    Tire balance?

Did you also have them check the wheel alignment? Vibrations that don't go away can be caused by both wheel alignment and wheel balance or a combination of both. On your tire balance many balancers achieve a tolerance for wheel balance that may still cause vibration. Sometimes the tire...

    Santa Cruz interior pics?

The first time I saw the Tahoe interior my first instinct was to run out to a western store and buy a cowboy hat a and a pair of saddlebags to match the Tahoe interior. Then I came to my senses and went for the Santa Cruz. I know this car has a lot of horses, but the Tahoe interior is taking...

Charging your Lucid on Tesla Superchargers

You can get one here from Lectron on Amazon or directly from Lectron. Don't if they work on non-Tesla stations, but the adapters are available. Anyone know?

Charging your Lucid on Tesla Superchargers

True, it will work both ways. But the Lucid has one advantage: Tesla has a maximum charging power of 145 Kw, so all the Tesla Supercharger stations are limited to 150kw. That means that the EA 350Kw stations will be of no value to them. I think when the Teslas charge at the EA stations, I...

Charging your Lucid on Tesla Superchargers

Looks like we will soon be able to do DC fast charging for our Lucids on Tesla superchargers as soon as Musk decides to pull the trigger. The Netherlands is doing it already and other European countries will likely soon follow. When it will happen in the US is your guess as good as mine...

    Setup Actions / Delivery Checklist

FYI, In my last conversation on the phone with my DA he told me he preferred to have a phone call, made through their phone call scheduling system, with me vs. email. With the schedule phone call, you will get the time to discuss issues (only 15 min). With email you will get a response when he...

    Have you seen this article.

Yes, I have. We need to keep an updated list for new deliveries in light of these production nightmares.

    Have you seen this article.

EEEWWW, not good. Just read the article. Need to really check the car over when I get it. We need to get a BIG checklist from new car owners on the problems they have had.

    Pirelli alternative?

TireRack tires compatible with the 19" tires are many, with an exact load rating of XL and 102Y rating. For the 21" tires the load ratings of 96 (front) and 101Y (rear) XL is slightly lower that the Pirellis 99 and 103Y HL rating, so you do need to make a decision on those sizes.

And I got my first flat.

TireRack already has tires listed as compatible with Pirellis in the 19 tire, but the 21 tires have a slightly lower load rating than the HL rated Pirellis.

    Pirelli alternative?

TireRack lists the Michelins as being compatible with the Lucid, and they are higher rated than the Perellis. Lucid won't allow you to get them on a new car, though. I've already asked.

    Wheel Alignment

Hey, that's great. Sometimes, though, it's hard to tell for small misalignments without putting it on alignment machine. You can do a quick check by measuring tread depth all around the tires to see if there is uneven wear. FWIW, I have never had a car that wasn't out of alignment after 3k-4k...
