NACS (Tesla adapter) versus CCS Megathread

Starting in 2025 Ford will replace the CCS port with NACS port on 2nd generation Ford EVs. Not in addition to CCS 1. Ford will offer CCS 1 to NACS adapter for 1st Gen Ford BEVs and you will be able pay for Supercharging using Ford Pass. Will not retrofit NACS to 2025 model year 1st Gen Ford...

    Gravity Testing!

IF the EQS SUV shape isn't stopping people from buying it I don't see why this would. Lucid has said repeatedly it is not a rock crawler. Efficient 7 people movers tend to look like minivans. If it gets AWD, 400+ miles of range, 7 seats, and 0-60 under 5 seconds for ~$100k I am in.

Air Dream Performance vs. Taycan Turbo S drag race

Dream P has 245 front 265 width rear tires. Taycan Turbo S has 265 front 305 rear tires. Sapphire will solve this drag race problem. And sacrifice some range. And also probably add carbon ceramic brakes standard for $249k.

    Gravity Testing!

At the earnings call Lucid said Gravity reveal would be "2023." They dropped "Spring" from 2023. Revealing too early might eat into Air demand. I don't think Lucid will have any problems generating enough Gravity demand.

    Q1 Numbers

If resale value dropping 50% overnight or dropping to near zero in the next 2 years would ruin you financially then no. Leasing is still low risk. If those dropping resale values are just an annoyance then why not? Do you think people regret buying the last few Deloreans or Tuckers? IF PiF...

The new Lotus electric SUV "Eletre"

The US economy is bigger than the Chinese economy with roughly 1/4 of the population. The Chinese are not wealthier than the US no matter how you slice and dice it. China has a much bigger luxury vehicle market. Chinese don't believe in the concept of "vulgar display of wealth." New money is...

Tesla drops price for Model S/X further

Tesla wants to sell 1.9M Model 3/Y units globally. And 100k Model S/X units globally. For a total of 2M units for 2023. It is adjusting prices up and down to get that level of demand. I don't think Tesla cares much about Lucid,Rivian,Taycan or anyone/anything else much.

    Gravity or....

There is ZERO chance the market flips on a dime. If, doubtful, sedans make a comeback Ford will have time to introduce sedans. It is not rocket science. Rivian is not a full line automaker. Rivian will not be selling Ford volume for the foreseeable future. It is fine being the Truck SUV...

    LCID just went below $8

LOL Yes, if corporate leadership makes good decisions it is good for shareholders. IF corporate leadership makes bad decisions it is bad for shareholders. Most knowledgably investors understand that Lucid is a startup in a capital intensive business. There is going to be "cash burn"...

    LCID just went below $8

The more money the Saudis pump into Lucid the more Lucid Group is worth. That is good for current shareholders. Unless you are planning a hostile takeover, it doesn't matter if your ownership stake is diluted. If you so strongly disagree with Lucid leadership then there is a simple remedy...

$1.5 billion raised mostly from Saudi PIF

You can no longer make money flipping an Air. Interest rates are up and the economy is looking shaky. The order book shrank ~8%. There is still 6 quarters worth of reservations. That is a nothing burger.

The new Lotus electric SUV "Eletre"

The Eletre isn't a piston car with 200+ hp per liter. The Eletre isn't going to be manufactured in the English Midlands. Geely has more experience manufacturing quality BEVs than does Lucid.

You will notice carsalesbase stopped giving monthly data in 2019 and only does quarterly for Chevrolet. Goodcarbadcar does monthly estimates for OEMs that do only quarterly reports.
