The question is the reason for the like.
A simple explanation for that could be pure economics.
The closest comparable R1S to my Gravity costs $25k less.
From sales probably 20x the number of people like a Ford Explorer more than Lucid.
We could keep going, but if we look at direct...
I don't care if their software makes the car fly.
It is butt ugly and rides like a boat.
My lower threshold with any car purchase is, it has to at least look good.
Envy Rivian owners for their software? I honestly have no issues about the Gravity software.

Total agreement on that.
From the post, I interpreted the issue to be specific to the app or remote access (CC couldn't wake it up), not to waking the car up in general such as with the fob or key card.
Yeah I kinda knew my historical recount wasn't quite right, but I think you got my point.
Are Apple/Google operating systems considered monopolies? No, but I hope carmakers don't view car/device integration with a monopolistic mindset towards Apple and Google when it comes to customer offerings...
I think there's perhaps a bit of lack in imagination on your part.
The focus should not be on CarPlay specifically. Nor should it be specifically on smart phones.
The focus should be on how to efficiently access and integrate content on multiple devices.
CP and AA currently do so, but that...
With cars, especially EVs becoming more software-defined, I don't see creating a dependency on a specific consumer-oriented software company as a good move.
Of course Apple and Google are going to have more software investments; they are software companies.
Competition is usually a good thing...
