Musings of a lifelong auto enthusiast and AGT owner for three plus years

Please forgive my indulgence but I had to add this to the AGT narrative and trust the my forum colleagues accept it as a positive. contribution. The AGT is by far the best car I have owned. Over the past 25 years that includes higher end MB's, Audis, Porsches (including Panamera NA GTS's) and a...

    Lucid AI Demo

I do not know what "AI Assistant" will be able to do in our Lucids. My AGT has met all my expectations when I ordered mine in April 2022 and after three plus years with it am impressed with its capabilities and improvements. I do know that the improvement in ClaudeAI has been quite rapid and for...

AGT stops charging at 264 miles

Have you reset your electrical panel circuit breaker? I have not had the problem you describe but frequently have to reset my breaker before charging. I use a Chargepoint system.

Lucid Motors slashes 12% of its workforce as it seeks profitability (Feb 2026)

I am not an IT or coding expert but surmise that Lucid may well be adopting more AI to improve productivity. I may have missed such a comment above, and if so my apologies.

    Lucid support in decline?

My experience with the Denver temporary SC for a year that I was there was exceptional. They report to the Seattle team but they were respsonsive as well.

    Lucid support in decline?

My three plus years of experience with service have been exceptional, but given the Tysons SC comments my experience with it has been unacceptably poor. My app connects me to Tysons SC, which is three hours away. I managed to speak with one of their people who was a snarky fellow who treated me...

Curious, anyone else with a problem free Air?

Despite numerous generally small problems my AGT has been a joy to drive locally and for two 2200 mile cross country drives. No problems have left me immobile. It has far surpassed the driving experience of any other cars I have owned. Moreover, service support and a corporate support culture...

Lucid Air Touring - major issues in cold weather - anyone else?

I have had a winter in NH and one one north of Denver but never had a problem except reduced efficiency in the cold weather. Car was not garaged in NH and aside from brushing snow off never had door handle problems.

Interim CEO claims L2++ EoY and L4 by 2029

Guess that I will have to soldier on with my '23 AGT, but I am perfectly happy with the system it now has. I have no idea if it will be possible to upgrade processors in my car in the future but if not I will not feel deprived and did not order my car in 2022 with any expectation of self driving...

    Brakes feel underwhelming, anyone else?

My brakes are fine on 19s. You should be very careful braking in corners. Not even Porsche CCBs can be as effective in corners as in a straight. The Air is a very heavy car so calibrate your performance expectations accordingly.

Open letter to Lucid after 7 months of ownership

You express my sentiments exactly. There is little brand awareness or credibility and they must open more studios and service centers to provide credibility and presence in the marketplace. We all know the failure rate of new car companies. What gives me confidence are the engineering, design...

Interim CEO claims L2++ EoY and L4 by 2029

Guess that I am an outlier here but am happy with my 2023 AGT's DDP. I did not buy with the expectation that FSD would be delivered and until and unless it is six sigma I would not depend upon it. That and my guess is that upgrades would probably require hardware installation not just OTAs...

    Lucid’s financial viability

Precisely on point. The fact that my 2023 Lucid is still, I believe, in a technologically leading position among domestic EVs available is significant. To me Lucid will continually improve around enduring design features and will optimize driving dynamics with newer models, much like what...

    Lucid’s financial viability

I plan to keep my AGT for a long time and am not surprised at the resale values. Yes, our Lucid's have suffered greater than normal depreciation for high end cars. Will the Saudi PIF withdraw and book a loss for what is to them a small investment that surely was viewed as a long term...

How hot are your heated seats?

I have lived with the heated seats for three winters with temperatures often below freezing and the seats work fine for me. The seats and steering wheel can get a bit too hot so I turn them off or down to the lowest setting for the seats. I especially like the heated seats when headed to my...

    Adaptive cruise/hands free not working

Congratulations on your AGT. Amazing car. 2.7 miles/kWh is probably less than what you will get on the same drive in warmer weather. I got 3.4 on an 1800 mile cross country trip in mid-30 degree weather on winter compound tires and the elevation change was gradual from about sea level in New...

Lucid Earth (midsize crossover): ready by summer 2027?

Well said. Unfortunately, the political aspect of electric generation and EV adoption is extreme now. This will prolong adoption and development of EVs and supporting infrastructure but this is not news and progress is inevitable IMO. We are fortunate to have been on the Lucid journey with...

    OTA 2.8.16

Thanks but I always use kWh used and actual miles driven so do not depend entirely on the car's calculation, although they have always been very close.

    OTA 2.8.16

Not sure but I installed 2.8.27 last week and did not know that there was a problem with the previous OTA.

    OTA 2.8.16

As I noted a few days ago, my efficiency has declined significantly since the latest OTA. I have been through three winters with freezing temperatures but have not seen sub 2 mi/kWh. I seem to be the only one to notice a change. Just did a 60 mile interstate drive at 70 mph in 55 degree weather...
