  • Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

I am in Great Neck, so extremely close to the Manhasset show room, and not far from Plainview center. Where are you located?

I actually went to the Manhasset show room for a test drive - loved the car. One pedal I got used to pretty quickly, though it felt strange. The accelerator feeling heavy was also an adjustment. But amazing drive overall. I do not have a lead foot at all. I also don't drive a ton day to day (4 miles a day... maybe an additional 50 miles twice a week).

What was your experience getting your car? How has charging been for you? I assume you charge at home?

Any tech gremlins or things I should be aware of that hindered your experience?

How is the sound system, that is one thing I did not check.

Hey, I apologize for neglecting this. I'm in Syosset. Charging has been inconsistent. At home, I get about 80 miles per hour on the CHC at 80A. I've noticed that charging at hyperchargers is much faster in the summer than during other months.

Tech gremlins...just remember that you're driving a computer! Sometimes a therapeutic reboot is necessary. What I usually do is, once or twice a week, I leave the blinker on and walk away from the car. When the car locks, it's a bit of a "soft reset." If you make a habit of doing that, it will help resolve many of the issues that can arise from long uptimes. Try to keep your fob or phone (whichever you use) far away from the car, as it may start to ignore you if it keeps unlocking due to proximity.

The car is a dream and has completely transformed my perspective on how a car should be. Are there software issues and quirks? Of course. Tesla has over a decade's advantage. That said, we have three vehicles (one of which is a convertible), and we often find ourselves arguing over who gets to take the Lucid. I think that sums up the experience in a nutshell.

The SSP is amazing if you use Tidal; the sound is much cleaner and immersive.

How has it been for you?
