Sharing my experience to warn other members about a suspected scam involving @AirPureRich, who used the name Brian Coleman, claimed to be in Pennsylvania, and communicated through [email protected].

After I posted looking for Lucid Gravity 23" wheels, someone recommended contacting this account and provided the email address. I contacted the seller and paid a $500 deposit through Zelle. He then sent tracking details, with delivery expected within two weeks.

It has now been a month, and the wheels have never arrived. I contacted him requesting a refund of my deposit, but he has not responded.

Please be cautious if this account or anyone using these contact details offers you wheels or other items.

Admins: Please investigate this account and remove or ban it if fraudulent activity is confirmed. I can provide payment confirmation, messages, and the tracking details for your review.

Please DM us details, and thank you for the PSA.

Not seeing an option to DM. New here so not very familiar with this forum. Do you mind sending me a DM and I can share all the details?

As I've mentioned here before, if you are interested in something that is listed here for sale, DM the seller. If you respond to the listing on the listing the scammers will contact you. DM insures that you are actually communicating with the actual seller. Sorry you got burned. I reread your post and see you posted a want to buy ad. That is also a scammer magnet.

Thanks for the advice. Someone reached out recommending this seller and provided his email, which made it seem legitimate at the time. I also came across a few of their posts and communication with other folks. Lesson learned—I’ll be much more cautious moving forward. Hopefully sharing my experience helps someone else avoid the same situation.

This is the most common scam on all forums - you publicly post interest in an item, and a scammer immediately contacts you as the seller from a different number and directs you how to pay and what email to use. It has nothing to do with the actual seller at all. Also, posting wanted ads attracts all kinds of leeches on society unfortunately.

Thank you! Will keep an eye out so I don't become a victim again.

Also another reminder not to use Zelle. If you do, you have no recourse at all really.

As much as it pains me to say it, something like Paypal and only paying one they generate the request as an invoice (easy to do even as an individual seller) that you then pay, at last gives you some options if they fail to deliver what you paid for.

Thanks for the reminder! This is what I intend to do going forward.

I use PayPal but never the friends and family option - always as goods or services. Way too many scammers and dishonest sellers so you have to protect yourself. Sad commentary on our culture.

Another consideration is CashApp. I have a CashApp credit / debit card that I use for any and all online purchases or purchases where I need to hand my card to someone who will walk away with it. If someone were to take the number / exp. date / 3-digit code the most they could steal would be the balance I currently have on the card. When I make an online purchase I add the amount of the purchase to the card from my checking and then make the purchase.

Recently I purchased something online for $49.99 and never received it. Reported it to CashApp and they investigated and refunded my purchase.

That's a good suggestion and you're right about scammers. It is what it is and we got to protect ourselves especially when money is involved.

I've never used CashApp but will look into it. Normally, I'd consider myself a cautious buyer having been in tech industry but this time around I might have overlooked certain things. Thanks for the advice.
