Yesterday dropped off my 2022 Air GT at Millbrae Svc for the 4th time in 3 years (purchased in 2023 not from Lucid with 1k miles, now 35k). Usual known issues on this forum and a couple things I paid for like chip upgrade
I've lost weeks of use and suffered Enterprise loaners from Chevy to Volvo incl time to pick up & drop off loaners at their office

Yes, I knew the 4 year anniv was coming up in September and booked an appointment for a couple issues I put up with for the summer months
1) The wiper washer doesn't spray 2) the A/C struggles on a summer CA day

Now Sam, a new service advisor says coSt of any repair is all on me due to technicality of my appointment request date being 3 days after the 4 year in service date
Any experience out there?
Suck it up or try to find a reasonable compromise?

When did you book your appointment? Was it well before your warranty expired? If your inability to get the vehicle serviced was due to their service center backlog I would argue that you should not be penalized. If however you waited until you were close to your warranty expiration date it will be a tougher argument. But if your request came after the warranty expired, even by a day, you likely won’t get any consideration.

Did you request a date after warranty ended?

Sounds like these issues aren't new? You put it off, you take your chances. You could appeal to their goodwill and point out how long you waited for an appointment but ...🤷‍♂️

My car went out of warranty in late September. My back door behind driver seat doesn’t work. Replacement costs $1,000 including over $500 for labor. Will let you know how long it takes. Fortunately it can be done at the house by a very good service rep. While service at Miami seems good quality, even simple things take two weeks or more. I have loved my car for 4 years but the inability to buy an extended warranty plus a service center that is inadequate is infuriating. Also, having bought an early GT the fact they quickly lowered the price after I bought it has only made the depreciation even worse. Lucid is taking customer contempt to a new level. The senior management of Lucid is incompetent. It makes me sick as I had been a huge supporter for years. Mike

Sr mgmt? You mean the new management? Pretty quick judgment.

Remind me which auto mgfr sell extended warranty’s? I must have missed that option with other companies

My last few cars were Mercedes and they do. Lexus also does. If you buy it and eventually sell the car you can get part of it back. I see no signs that the new management is doing anything to improve the service. After 4 plus years the service is only in Miami and West Palm Beach which are right next to each other. We heard that things will get better when they get a SUV. They got one and not only have things not improved I have heard that part of the current service problems is that the Gravity’s are requiring a lot of fixes. Lucid has not only not acknowledged that they have a problem but when they are going to open more service centers. They are spending a fortune trucking cars to Miami. I had my car sit there two weeks to fix a tire. Yes they provide a car but in that case it was a rental car. When it went for its 4 year service, they brought a new car but it was the new entry level. It made me realize how lucky I am to a GT. My fear now is that the Saudi’s pull the plug like they did with LIV golf. Mike

The new leadership has been in place not much more than a full quarter. Addition of locations and hiring and training of service technicians doesn't happen overnight.

I'm aware of at least two new locations opening, and if you look on LinkedIn , there's a TON of open postings for technicians, advisors, service managers and the like, which I take as pretty good signs that the cart manager is taking the situation seriously, and improvements are on the way.

I certainly don't think it's fair to claim that they aren't making an effort to improve things, just because they aren't happening in some fantasy timeline that you think is possible.

You aren’t aware of other manufacturers who sell extended warranties? Seriously? Almost all of them do. Even Tesla does.

After the fact?

I can take a post warranty car in and get a warranty? So say s 6 year old S7 can get a warranty from Audi?

I guess I’ve been schooled, really didn’t know that

Who said anything about waiting until it is out of warranty? Lucid doesn’t sell any extended warranty, even while it is under the original one. All the other brands do.

Selling extended warranties would be a great move by Lucid. They could use the work it generates to keep their techs busy.
They could use that to address the issue of excess capacity they have
