Software wish list

I still like 'Soft Stop' so that in stop and go traffic you don't get any small lurching. The competition has this.

In addition to what’s already been mentioned, including PAAK:

1. Quieter AC
2. Liveview in the vehicle
3. More functionality on Spotify app (ability to see the album the song playing belongs to (my Volvo does this))
4. Fixing homelink custom bottom on steering wheel so that garage door consistently opens with one press
5. More options and flexibility for setting custom buttons
6. Ability to stream Netflix, Apple TV, etc. on front and back screens
7. Ability to see traffic on bottom screen when driving (similar to Tesla). So much safer to be able to see what’s around you when on the screen
8. Apple Music app and the ability to streak Dolby Atmos
Number 7 can easily lead to a lack of awareness due to reliance of a screen to tell you what is visible outside the glass and mirrors. Most often you can see this in boating accidents where spending time looking, glancing at a screen can lead to a diminished situational awareness

Given the limited development resources this would be a poor investment. And the features that you’re asking for are available in third party apps. The data aggregation in those apps is far more useful given the total number of EV drivers vs. Lucid owners. There are chargers that may not see a Lucid in days and drivers would have to be diligent in providing feedback. And circumstances at any given charger could change by the time the next Lucid driver chooses that station. I could see more issues and frustration with drivers relying on inaccurate information culled from a very limited data set.

It might be a better use of developer time to work up a data sharing agreement with plugshare, to report (anonymously of course) charging session data to Plugshare, and then also incorporate plugshare station data into the Nav system.

I used ABRP in CarPlay with live data from the car on my recent trip. It was pretty nice for that, it would show things like "last successful charge [at this station]: 30 minutes ago, 157kW." And you were prompted to rate and update features at each stop like whether there are open bathrooms, food, room to run the dog, etc. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough to make me jealous of Rivian drivers who have that built in. The main downside is it has absolutely no offline functionality, so when I lost service and needed to adjust the route - completely out of luck.

Isn’t this a wish list thread?

My Lucid Gravity Software / Feature Wish List

I’ve had my Gravity for a little while now and wanted to put together a running wish list of features I’d love to see Lucid add through future software updates:

  1. Interior camera view while driving
Allow us to view the cabin/interior camera from the Pilot Panel while driving. This would be especially useful for parents with babies or young kids in the second/third row. A small picture-in-picture view would be even better so you could monitor a child while keeping navigation on screen.
  2. More control over ambient/interior lighting
I’d love much deeper customization of the interior lighting:
    • More colors / full color selection
    • Individual lighting zones
    • Better brightness control
    • Ability to save lighting presets
    • Keep your preferred lighting configuration while driving
    • Tie lighting presets to driver profiles or drive modes
  3. Interior Live View through Halo Secure
Lucid has already shown Interior Live View on its roadmap. I’d love to see this expanded beyond security use so we can remotely check the cabin from the Lucid app, especially useful for kids, pets, or checking whether something was left inside.
  4. Customizable shortcuts / controls
Give us more freedom to customize quick-access controls on the Pilot Panel and steering wheel. Things like interior camera, garage door, ambient lighting, cameras, drive modes, etc. should be assignable as favorites.
  5. More user-profile personalization
Have profiles remember more settings, including lighting, display configuration, shortcuts, climate preferences, drive settings, and other personalization.

One more for the wish list.

Its great Lucid has a Apple watch app. But the app lets you control some basic operations like unlock / lock etc. But no option to allow the user to drive. The Apple watch app should allow the user to allow the user to initiate driving.

A very simple upgrade will be to let users rate the charging station on the app for speed, reliability and nuber of chargers. Than use those scrores in navigating to the preferred chargers. This will save a lot of time in long trips and improve user experience.
Not like it can’t be done either. I build the LucidTracker Charging Map for Lucid Owners to track charging station sessions and reliability from registered and opted in vehicles. Would be good if Lucid could add this type of functionality into the car.

You can make that argument with anything on the screen. Even before a screen. Trying to find a radio station. Looking for a tissue to blow your nose. Tesla has this functionality. Convenient (IMO) to be able to see what’s around you on the screen using the LIDAR and cameras and whatever other advanced tech the car has that isn’t currently being fully utilized. Again, this is my opinion and preference, which respectfully differs from yours (and some others on the forum).

This should arrive later on with Phone as a Key. UWB-capable watches should work as well as UWB-capable phones.

Thanks for the insight. I hope this happens soon. Once Phone as a key arrives, I hope individual devices will be associated with individual drivers. I hope this also ensures that the phone used to unlock the vehicle is the one that connects to the bluethooth and carplay / android auto.

Currently on my Gravity, my android phone always connects though it was unlocked with my wife's phone or key fob.

One more SW wish list. In the Halo Secure feature, there should be an option to record longer than 1 minute.

I understand that only 30s worth of video data is available prior to the trigger event, but there should be an option to store more data after the trigger event. Lets say 3 minutes or 5 minutes etc. In my case the shortcut key on my steering wheel is programmed to trigger a recording. I suggest that they implement it as such: short press - record 1 minute video, long press - record 3-5 minute video and pressing again should extend the ending time.

Example: In the case of a road rage event, if someone is in an accident, it will be useful to have longer video. Or in the event of a road rage event, should another driver come threaten you or damage your vehicle, it will be good to have a longer recording since a 1 minute recording may not give the full context of the incident.

The car's connection for Carplay/Android Auto and bluetooth are completely separate processes from the UWB key function. My guess is that there will still be mixups.
