Lucid Air Touring
My Lucid Air has started to make a creaking noise when slowly rolling to a complete stop. Anyone else had this same issue?
Thanks

With or without brakes? I get this on my Gravity with brakes. A little bit of binding at a certain pressure point at very low speed where I’m at the threshold of the brakes grabbing vs not. I’ve experienced this in other cars, as well.

I’m thinking possibly a suspension issue too mate.

do you have any updates on this? mine started creaking as well over the summer. There’s a recall for the half shaft fasteners, and I brought it in to service to have it addressed, but it’s still creaking. I’m livid that they gave me my car back without bringing it up to me.

Try with regen off and drive it like automatic ICE, does it creak? I suspect is actuator for brake pedal when the car is coming to a stop with HOLD.

it’s definitely not the case. the creaking occurs when accelerating from a stopped position. what does the brake have to do with that? it’s the same thing as all these damn EVs: the half shaft bolts on the axle where the powertrain is connected. too much torque and the washers are worn. I honestly don’t even think they changed the fasteners during the recall.

After I had the recall service work done, the car (Lucid Air Pure) would make a groaning sound especially when backing up and turning out of my driveway. It turned out that the screws on the front stabilizer bar were not torqued correctly. Lucid replaced them and torqued correctly. Haven't had the problem since. But, I had to live with it for months before I could bring the car in for this work.

Mine was loose HV battery tray bolts. It was good for a while, now it started doing it again. Car is a pile.

I have the issue with this too. How do we fix it? I don’t think any other car has an issue with HOLD like this

To my understanding, HOLD applies the electric brakes upon a stop.

Making noise as they release also makes me think it could be sticking disks, which EVs are notorious for because most of us drive fully in regen and rarely apply the friction brakes, which in turn get dirty/rusty.

Try coming to a stop with vigorous use of the brake pedal a few times to clean the disks of rust. It might go away if so; easy fix to try.

But I agree it is worth keeping an eye out for the loose half-shaft recall issue. Be safe!

I’m gonna try but I don’t think you guys are taking this seriously at all. This is an issue that affects ALL EVs, not just Lucid. I saw a Rivian driving by a few weeks ago and could hear the loud creaking as it came to a stop and proceeded to accelerate again. It’s a common issue because there is SO much torque being applied to those half-shafts. The issue with this one and why it’s so grave, is that Lucid issued a recall for this, they had my car for 4 days, and handed it back to me with the issue remaining the same and not even having a discussion about it with me!

I recorded a video of me driving the car in a garage from cold. Here’s a link:

I would say that is definitely not sticking disks; you should have potential slop in the half shafts investigated.

I do not think that should be termed "creaking". It is much more similar to the sound of a u-joint taking up slack due to excessive wear. Loose half shaft bolts would sound similar.

You should take this to the service center. The issue with HOLD is that it produces a sound like the brake is applied when accelerating.

Oh that ain’t right.

My 2025 AT is in service now for a similar sound while accelerating from stop and decelerating to stop. They will be replacing the front drive unit.

Is it related to HOLD? Was it making a sound when you used roll?
