OK, so iOS 27 is out of beta, which was in beta since June 8, more than three months. We’ve been hearing that PAAK was ready to go with the general release of iOS 27. Yeah, still waiting. Any guesses?
 
Well, iOS public release is 9/14. Then Lucid would need to release their corresponding mobile app update after that. And they may need to release a corresponding vehicle update. Maybe sometime late September, at the earliest.

iOS 27 has nothing to do with this. PAAK could've shipped on iOS 26 without any issues, the OS version isn't a technical blocker. If they're waiting for iOS 27 GA, that's a choice, not a requirement.

The real hold up is something else entirely, whether that's internal prioritization, backend readiness, certification timing (most likely this), or testing. Don't mistake a convenient timeline for a technical dependency though.
 
I agree entirely. PAAK was perfect with UWB on my BMW iX from the day I picked it up in August 2024. I love the car, but admittedly it's pathetic that this isn't available.

BMW has approximately twice as many engineers as Lucid has employees.

The point this was echoing is not engineering, it was that iOS 27 is a false limitation. Apple Key PaaK has been working in other cars for many years.

That’s not necessarily true, though it could be. It is entirely possible that adding a new *manufacturer* to Apple Digital Key requires an OS update from Apple; I don’t know if that’s true, but it certainly could be.

Whereas adding a new *vehicle* once the manufacturer is already “baked in” may be simply an app update.
