24A max? Why?

I left my car all summer (plugged in). While I was away, I got the v2.10.0 update. When I got home, I noticed the I am locked out to a max charge rate of 24A....? Anyone know why?

For clarity, the car is in my garage, connected to an EVSE that delivers 48A to my wife's Ioniq 5.

From what I've read, if certain temperature levels are reached the car will throttle down to 24 amp. Did it ever charge at the full 48? Have you tried to disconnect it from the charger and reconnect it? I wonder if this is a bug as it happened to me as well, but I figured it was just the adapter I was using with the Tesla wall connector.
 
mine says that when it's not charging but it changes when it's actually charging.

Interesting. While I was away I had the car covered with the Lucid branded garage cover. I left the car plugged in, and I noticed from telemetry that it was charging at half its normal power.m (meaning 24A).

I wonder if I got warm while it was charging with a cover on....?

But now that I am back home, I can't seem to get it to forget that setting.

And yes, and absolutely charged at 48A. Before I went away for the summer, that setting that I circled and read was 80A, it's Max charge rate on AC.
 
That's a strange one... can you disconnect from the charger, do a reset, and see if the maximum rate has changed? The other idea I had is that the maximum charging rate is somehow connected to your home location and that the allowable rate may change away from home?
 
Update. After charging for the first time after I got home (and charged without the car cover) it mysteriously reset itself.

My hypothesis is that it got warmer than expected while charging with the car cover on while I was away. After things returned to normal it reset itself and let me reset the charge rate.

If it was always plugged in and no one was driving then why would the car grab a bunch of electrons if it only needed a few
And yes you seem to be able to set a max draw at a location, not sure how many memory locations it has

I left the car plugged in for about 90 days, with the charge limit set at 50%. The day I headed home, I checked the car's status for the first time in a long time (>80 days). I noticed the car's state of charge at about 30% and I hit "charge now."

I got home and drove it for a few days. When the SOC dropped to ~30%, I went to plug it in that's when I noticed the charge limit was pegged at 24A.

Hmm it might have been a bit more informative had you provided that detail earlier.
Now that we’ve that additional detail the real question becomes why did the car drop to 30% in the first place?
Plugged in my car, admittedly not sitting so long, has always maintained the set point.
The 24A could be a location setting as I know I can set a current rate based on location. You may have accidentally set it to 24A
 
I just plugged in my Gravity GT after getting home with 18% charge. My charge rate from the beginning is at a plodding 44 to 47 mph, and 18 kW. It's Sunday noon here in Southern California, I'm also charging during a "super off peak" electricity rate period.

I did a reset of my home charger by switching off the EV charger's 100 amp circuit breaker, and then switching on again after about a minute. I also checked inside the car to make sure the amperage was set at 80 amp.

Still charging at a rate only marginally improved at 48 mph.

Normally at night when I charge, I'm getting a rip roaring 65 to 70 mph.

Does anyone else know what else I could do? Apparently the circuit breaker reset didn't change anything very much.

80 amps * 240 volts is 19200W, or 19.2kW.
If your Gravity is reporting 18kW, that's close to the max.
The "miles per hour" charging rate that equates to depends on your driving efficiency.
 
Personally I choose to manage battery charge rather than mileage. I can directly impact my range by how and which path I go. By managing state of charge you directly manage where and how you go. Oh and you end up treating your battery the best YOU can. (I may do different)

And, close to the max is the max, because voltages vary. 220v x 80A = 17.6 kW so anything in that range is normal.
