What does this have to do with Lucid's stock price?

Nothing.

Lucid said all that investors needed to hear during the Q2 earnings call. Suspending guidance until the Q3 call and delaying Midsize production ramp until the 2nd half of 2027. They have enough cash on hand to last well into 2027 so they'll almost definitely have to take on more debt or issue new shares.

Unless Gravity shows a significant increase in sales this quarter, the stock price will continue to drop.

"Better driver" probably has 5 different definitions if you ask 5 different people what it means. But from a simple crash frequency perspective, it's really not possible for an individual to evaluate whether FSD is as good as a human driver. That's because humans have a fatal crash for every ~85 million miles driven, and a police reported crash for roughly ~500,000 miles driven. That's too many miles for any individual driver to have a large enough sample size to judge against.

Really you need fleet level data. Which Tesla has, but they've been unwilling to release it in a way that allows outsiders to judge how safe FSD is. And of course they've continued to tell people that the system requires supervision. And they've had real challenges deploying anything more than a token number of robotaxis. It could well be that FSD is working flawlessly in some locations, and much less well in others, and that may explain the different experiences people are reporting.

Personally, I see the appeal of a system that doesn't need supervision, so i can have it take me home when I've had a few drinks, or am too sleepy to safely drive. Or just wanting to relax and read a book on a long trip. But for a fancy ADAS that requires my constant unwavering attention, I think it's too expensive. And I do worry about how commonly I hear people explaining that they don't bother to supervise it anymore.
Living with the system allows you to see its logic, to see the decisions it makes, to see how that logic and those decisions compare with what you would do in similar situations. In fact there was one instance it saw a pedestrian starting to cross that I initially missed. I have a friend that drives a Genesis GV70 and was initially skeptical about the FSD system in the Tesla. He’s been in my car often enough that he’s done a total 180. He’s seriously considering getting a Tesla now based on its FSD and it was never even on his radar. Of course there are other aspects of the car he likes, but FSD is #1.

The biggest compliment to Tesla’s FSD was something I encountered a couple of weeks ago when we were with friends. We went to a restaurant about 20 miles away and when we got there, the couple thought I had been driving and had no idea I had never touched a thing…and they do think I’m a good driver. The system is that smooth and transparent.

Living with the system imparts a confidence I can’t put in words. Would I trust my son in the car using FSD? 100%. Of course I wouldn’t tell him to read a book, I don’t think any system, Lidar, cameras or otherwise, would give me that degree of confidence. But I can tell you letting the car drive, even under supervision, is far more relaxing when you’re tired. Positively, absolutely.

I know some here will refuse to believe that and frankly there’s not much I can do or care to do when emotions play a frequent role in arriving at conclusions that have little to do with the facts. It is what it is.

This has simply not been my experience in recent Teslas with FSD.

At least around me, when not on the highway, it still very much sucks and makes mistakes somewhat regularly.

As a comparison, I’ve personally never seen a Waymo make a mistake. But I also fully believe it can and does happen, though I suspect at a much lower rate than FSD (albeit, the statistics agree with that too)
Literally, about 120 seconds ago, I was in a friend’s Tesla, with FSD, and watched as it ran straight into a bright blue recycling bin, with great fervor, before then stopping because it saw the green yard bin.

(Edit: to be fair, I don’t know if it stopped because it felt the collision with the blue can or saw the green one. In hindsight, probably felt the collision, lol, but hard to tell because my friend was already either in or about to be on the brake)

I wish I were making it up, but it’s simply too inconsistent to be trusted, for me, today. It’s funny because both my friend and I were like “surely it sees that bin, right? It’ll… veer? Now? Now? NOW? OK IT WONT” lol

I genuinely hope that one day these are worries of the past, but we are not there yet, ladies and gents.

I agree, but if there’s a 1/2 ounce of honesty in some that are posting here, I would not say this is the most objective crowd to get opinions on anything Tesla, Musk or FSD.

As I said, I experienced FSD in an earlier MS and that most certainly did suck.
The newest hardware together with the latest FSD software, couldn’t be more different. It is thus far flawless for me and a feature I never realized I needed this much…yes, even if you enjoy driving yourself. I hope Lucid gets it soon and it’s at the same level I’m experiencing, so that the naysayers here can see what I’m talking about.
I hear you. I make no claims that my experience is the more common one. In fact, I’d expect it to be uncommon or it would be an even bigger deal than it is.

But that experiences like mine exist at all is a real problem.

Same holds true for bad experiences with Lucid service, for example; it needs to be consistent, at a minimum.

Well it looks like my last post was deleted. Oh well. I was simply going to add a recent review from savagegeese for those who are curious about a respected reviewer’s first Tesla review, paying particular attention to his FSD opinions that largely reflect what I’ve said:
(For the record, your post was fine, but it quoted one that wasn’t, so baby/bathwater)

What does this have to do with Lucid's stock price?
Nothing, because that’s a boring topic

It’s low, right? Maybe higher or lower than it was yesterday? 🤷‍♂️

You should know by now how Elon feels about blue, so I am not surprised...

A good friend of mine is a computer science professor and did his doctorate on ADAS systems and neural networks. He said Tesla is so overblown its capabilities that what they claim to be able to do is easily 10 years down the road, if possible at all 🤷

I have already explained its capabilities and how it’s performed, so perhaps I’ve taken a Time Machine to 10 years in the future. I set my destination, press FSD and the car proceeds to drive me to my destination without any fanfare. It navigates any route I’ve given it, traverses traffic circles that I personally hate and parks itself upon arrival. I couldn’t care less if that doesn’t fit your friend’s definition of FSD. Believe what you wish.

Honestly, I don’t know if some of you guys are in denial or it’s just the hatred that drives you, but it’s sad to witness. It almost reminds me of the Tesla forum years ago when I got my 2017 MS. Heaven forbid anyone spoke of the virtues of another car or was critical of a Tesla.

Not saying it didn’t happen, but I gotta say it’s amazing with these coincidences of me extolling the virtues of Tesla’s FSD and you, only 2 minutes prior being in a near catastrophic accident with a Tesla. Yet everyone I know that has a newer Tesla has never had anything like this happen. What hardware version does he have? What software is he running?

I remember when I took a 2 hour Tesla test drive with a friend in the passenger seat. We were amazed at how the car, upon seeing an ambulance coming down the opposite direction of a 2 lane road, immediately slowed down and pulled over until the ambulance had passed. It was on FSD. My friend’s mouth was open…as was mine.

At this point even my wife, who is conservative about this kind of tech, is a 100% believer.

Are you really trying to suggest that everyone that has had different experiences with FSD than you are "haters" making things up?

Yup we are Sith Lords you’re on to us. The hatred drives us and our empire.

I like Teslas I own one. Ive actually owned two. I don’t like FSD in my area because it doesn’t work well. Probably for the same reason Waymo is great in SF but it sure wouldn’t work here!

I do hate Lucid though.

Having said that, my friend literally wrote the book on neural networks for ADAS. I’m sure he would love to argue with you cuz he sure as hell did with me!

No, I’m not saying that at all. I just find it odd that I don’t read of these experiences on the Tesla forum where people do bitch & moan about other things, nor do I personally know of Tesla owners that have these near catastrophic accidents. If you watched savagegeese’s video you would see his assessment of FSD is far closer to mine than some other opinions here. I recall many here were quite praising of his Lucid review.

I find some here do make sweeping allegations out of hatred.

Man it just doesn’t work good here lol don’t take it so personally. Mine tried to park in a Target cart return.

I bought the first Tesla in my neighborhood. They didn’t even have a real dealership here just a showroom and service. I was so excited I bought the floor model!! Then the next year I bought another one!

Wasn’t that part caused by some big fund disappearing or something? Something weird happened in the middle of it.
Those few sub+$3 trades snuck through for a few minutes between trading halts, that spooked some into dumping at any costs. IIRC, before and after that it was over $4.
