What I’m saying is, it won’t reach robotaxi level. And any poor visibility and dirt on camera, it won’t work. When it stops working , no redundancy to bring you to a safe stop.I can tell you from driving experience and from technical experience that the parts in bold are not as you describe. I think that you assume that if your eyes can't see it the cameras can't. Not true. I can tell when I drive our Tesla or our Lucid that the cameras can see several cars ahead, including vehicles in front of the vehicle in front of me. That's the driving experience part. And I've seen both cars do that even in foggy weather. Just experienced this on my recent drive from Detroit to Hilton Head Island.
From technical experience if I go back to my days tracking new technology additions in my product portfolio planning days I very often attended supplier tech demos where they showed us cameras that see as clearly in pitch black or in fog, driving rain, or snowfall much better than the human eye can see. I retired from that job in 2017. Practically everything I was looking at camera-wise back then is not only in the field by now, but probably a cycle or two improved from when I saw it.
FSD can’t see the car ahead of me, but nothing in front of that car, but I can see the 2nd car ahead through 1st car windows. Just relying in cameras is a fools errand.
If Lucid can get something within 10 \% of FSD they have a winner.
