Spotify Issues?

I finally have found what is triggering the Spotify pauses. When in a relatively weak cell signal area and my iPhone changes cell towers from 5G to LTE (or the opposite), it causes the app to pause. Subsequently, if I immediately press play, it continues playing until the next cell tower change which tells me that the signal strength is not the issue but that it is the change from 5G to 4G. My first thought was that this is a iPhone or Spotify issue but when I drive my Infiniti through the same streets using the same iPhone and app, it doesn't happen so this appears to be a Lucid issue.

I don’t think it’s a Spotify issue. I drove the same commute with 2 different Teslas and a Rivian and now the Lucid with Spotify running on CarPlay. No issues.

Resurrecting this in case anyone is still having problem. I think I found the solution in the gravity thread.

I was logged into Spotify in the car and on carplay at the same time. So when the reception would drop and come back, the car and phone would fight with each other and pause the music/podcast. I logged out of spotify on the car 2-3 weeks ago and haven't had a problem since. I REALLY hope I don't have to come back and eat my words with another random pause....
 
It's beyond annoying and I never had the problem until they launched Android Auto. I prefer the native Lucid interface over Android so I'm trying to find a way to just shut down the Android auto piece. If anyone else has found a way, please let me know. Also wondering why the signal on the Lucid cell is so crappy - and wondering if that is really the underlying problem. I always seem to have 2-3 bars max when I've never had that little reception in the Air or any other vehicle, or my phone.
 
Spotify limits you to one stream per account. If you start another stream, the first will stop. This particular behavior is Spotify, not Lucid.
 
So then it is an auto play issue where the phone and the car are fighting each other. I also get random skipping through songs. One song ends, it goes to play the next, plays for a tenth of a second, jumps to next song, then the next and the next and the next and then it will play a song. OR, playing a song and it pauses. I press play, it plays for a second and then pauses, then I press play, and it plays for a couple seconds 10-20, and then pauses.

The first symptom sounds like the problem that Spotify just fixed a day or so ago.

The second symptom could be poor cell reception in the car, or another Spotify stream being started on another device. I learned about Spotify's one-stream limitation when I was trying to play Spotify in the car, and my wife was playing it at home also using my account. My stream would pause after she started hers, and vice versa. Unknown to each other, we were both re-starting our streams every time they paused, blocking the other's stream within a few seconds and leading to cursing both in the car and at home.

Or a third possibility, your infotainment could use a reboot.

Thanks - familiar with the streaming limitation - and purchased the family plan so we can do multiple accounts. We had that cursing before (which was funny). I'm going to do a reset and then see, monitor my reception and see if I can pinpoint the exact circumstances.

Annoyingly, the Lucid interface doesn't really "remember" when you toggle Android Auto off in the devices settings. One of a lot of little quirks I hope they fix someday.

I'm the meantime, the best I was able to do was to enable developer tools in Android Auto settings on my phone, and from there you can disable wireless Android Auto.

So when I connect with Bluetooth, I just get the native stuff, and if/when I want AA, I just plug it in and it spins right up. Not an ideal solution but it works fairly well.

I've just been manually stopping Android Auto most of the time I get in to drive the car. Guess I could go the plug-in route too - that'd keep the car from taking my phone's wifi connection every time I unlock it.
