FYI I've been in contact with the service manager in Houston since its the only location in all of Texas. She told me they're finally opening up a service center in Dallas next month or so. That should alleviate the scheduling difficulties since they're backlogged like 3 months in advance. I finally got a service appointment in November...

As far as location, I doubt its in the Legacy West location where the showroom is. There's no space, and too swanky for a repair shop :)

Of course, schedules could slip (it is Lucid after all), but the fact they're working on the Dallas one pretty soon sounds like Silvio and team are working to get the service side better. Progress!

When I spoke with a service advisor last week they mentioned October and said he thought it was going to be 13 bays. Really looking forward to that. I really hope they have sufficient loaners as well.

Oct 5th is the estimated date. Houston turned my car around in 8 days recently. They've got 3 service advisors now, and a whole bunch of techs working. Also, their staging room was full of new rides ready to go home. I'd say 80% of them were Gravity.

I doubt opening of the Dallas SC will totally solve the Texas repair backlog. Yes, it will improve things, but probably more like reducing 3 month backlog down to 1 month.

I bet you’re fun at parties :p

So what? Not that anyone is claiming it will totally solve everything.

At least it's a step in the right direction. I'm one of the most cynical people you'll meet and even I don't see the point in being so negative about an actual, concrete act that will almost certainly improve things.

I just don't understand how it has become so prevalent in the last decade or so that so many people seem to feel that any action which doesn't totally and immediately fix everything is to be dismissed off hand or that nobody should bother trying.

We could be friends :p

Also, I don’t know that this is new; it has always been easier to criticize than to praise. People generally see short-term, not long-term.

This is also why, for so many founders, the answer is to ignore the critics and focus on the people who love the product you’re building - it is those people who are paying you money, not the critics, and it is those people you are trying to please.

The critics will eventually either come around, or will find other products to criticize.

The Dallas service center looks like it will be in the Design district area, not legacy west.

Our society expects instant gratification in all aspects of life.

As someone posted, Dallas will have 3 times more bays than Houston, and it is a much bigger setup. Even if the immediate effect is reducing the backlog to just one month, as you say, it will steadily improve things, and it is a huge win. As someone local, I am very excited. The service team here is the very best, and this is great news as far as I am concerned. It

Oh I know it's been around a long time. I just feel like it's grown and metastisized over the last decade or so to be the default response by a majority, or at the very least an obviously loud minority.

Lucid has had a service center + mobile service location in Austin on their own map on the website since at least 2023 and yet there isn’t anything there. Anyone have any intel? That would still be my biggest hesitation to getting a Lucid since I’m in San Antonio.

Did not realize that the Dallas SC would be 3 times size of Houston SC (which to be fair is very undersized). Hopefully Lucid will shift out of state, Austin and North Central Texas repairs to this SC and free up Houston SC to focus on Houston and South Texas repairs. I also know that currently all new car preps for Texas and surrounding states are done at Houston SC, so moving a lot of this to Dallas will help. The counter argument to this is how much impact the release of Cosmos next year will have on things. Hopefully by next summer we will be able to go onto app and schedule a service appointment within less than a month and have work completed in a week/ two weeks max. A guy can dream.

To be fair, I had similar worries/predictions about Gravity Key FOB back in spring 2025 and you assured me that all would be wonderful with the Gravity FOB due to new tech involved. I seriously hope that I am wrong on this prediction as I do really want Lucid to succeed and do love driving my Gravity (when it is not in the Houston SC waiting on service.)

I sincerely doubt I assured you “all would be wonderful.” I likely said it should be better than Air’s, since it uses UWB and Air doesn’t.

And, to be fair… it is better than Air’s. I sincerely believe anyone who still has fob issues with Gravity has a bum fob.

The austin location is a mobile tech, Jason, who is awesome, but is in need of reinforcements for sure. The location on the website is the body shop, Autocraft Bodywerks, where he does the larger repairs. Most repairs can be done at your home/office/etc. Hopefully once Dallas SC opens, or even before, they will get some more mobile techs here to help him out. Eventually an Austin studio/SC would be ideal and we're now getting a critical mass of Lucid owners in the area, so I'm sure it's on their radar.

According to this article, the address is 2439 Irving St.

This address is correct, mostly... I think it's actually Irving blvd...but according to the service guy here, it will not only be a large service center with multiple bays, but also a showroom and will be the preferred customer vehicle delivery location as the Legacy West location is a bit wonky with the parking garage situation there.

Dang that would've been super convenient when I was still commuting to an office at the Infomart!

Still a million times more convenient than Plano or Houston!
