I sent an email to the software address, but has anyone else had the issue that DDPro wants to put the car into the HOV lane even when you have set the car not to use them? Periodically tries to move into the HOV lanes on 101 while on.

Do you mean like, when you're driving on the far left/far right lane and it begins to split into two lanes with the leftmost/rightmost lane being an HOV lane, then DDP starts merging you into the HOV lane? If that's your issue with DDP, I'd say that happens to me about 10 - 40% of the time I have DDP on while an HOV lane "emerges" (I'm not exactly sure of the numbers, since I'm not keeping track; but it's definitely happening less than half of the time).

Whenever this happens, I just jerk the steering wheel to get me back into the proper lane. It only takes a second or two for DDP to take back control and we go our merry way. If this is what you're experiencing, I believe this is normal behavior and is indicative of DPP being a work-in-progress that could use further tweaking.

If you have a different issue, can you explain more precisely what problem you're experiencing?

No. I mean I’m driving down 101. And it’s in the leftmost non hov lanes and like one might expect in rush hour the hov lane is faster so it puts on the signal and plans to move over to the hov lane. So then I have to manually deflect the stalk to prevent the lane change. Which takes more effort now that hands free is enabled and my hand isn’t right there. I mean this is why that setting is available so that you can have it use them or not. It just seems to want to use them even when I have the setting to not use them.
 
Dont have that, but do see the car pull left when there is a break in the white line for turns on a road with drive assist.

Your car is initiating lane changes by itself, and you have a setting to avoid HOV lanes?

Gravity, not Air. DDP2 has a setting to initiate lane changes autonomously.

Why would anyone want self driving in heavy traffic?
Anyone of those folks, out there, could invent a brand new edge case at any moment. Or someone could toss their Tesla into madmax mode. In either case, my opinion, is that’s generally a bad idea.
Having said that if you’re on the same road but fewer cars then I agree the car shouldn’t be doing that
I believe the best thing to do is hit your flashers for a moment, once you are in control, then send an email to the bug tracker and call to let them know it does this
I think this sounds like an OTA sw fix rather than a trip to a SC
 
@Aka-none The adaptive cruise control works great in heavy traffic. While I had it set to 71MPH it slowed down perfectly when I hit traffic. Much nicer than having to regulate the accelerator yourself. Did this on I580 in California going east on the altamont pass (that's where I hit traffic). I've got Dream Drive 2 Premium on my Gravity Grand Touring so can't do full ADAS.
 
The problem I have with drive assist (in any form) is that it leaves so much space between you and the car in front (even at its lowest setting) that cars continually cut in front of you causing your car to slow down.

I actually didn't find this to be much of a problem. If I was in the fast lane on I5 and someone wanted to go around me they could do so. Those cars quickly cleared in front of me (I sometimes drive in the fast lane on I5 as the slow lane can sometime be a bit torn up because of the heavy truck traffic). When using the adaptive cruise control things worked great when I got into traffic and folks were not cutting in on me (see post #9 above)

Well you have a completely different experience than I do. Perhaps it is a Gravity thing.

much less of this for me in the gravity than there was in my teslas.
