Nope. Integrated nav is infinitely better than phone projection nav for routine trips. I only use Apple Maps or Waze for special circumstances. (Google Maps is for chumps, the worst of the three.)

Car nav has the built in "charge your car here" automatically which neither google nor apple has built in. For longer trips car nav is better, for around town and short trips perhaps use apple or google maps

The only way I know to do it is to beep the horn. There's a few triggers (horn, airbags going off, etc) that trigger a recording (maybe 2-3 minutes), but I don't know of any general start/stop feature.

Maybe he just meant the capability is there, even though the software doesn't allow it to be used for routine use.

Right... several automakers do this - selective dash cam recording triggered by a crash or horn honk. But a true dash cam is always recording and saving, so the driver can go back and look at footage after the fact, like any commercial dash cam. I do not know why every automaker is not already doing this. I hate the idea of a 3rd party dash cam installed on my cars.

I prefer AA nav over the car's nav for directions, views, etc. Plus it includes warnings for police, construction, and road debris (that I think it shares with Waze).

The one reason I check the car nav on some road trip legs is to monitor the arrival% estimate, if it's a long leg with a low SOC arrival.

I don't use the charger data in nav at all. I nav station-to-station, and plan my own charging station stops.

Yep. It's frustrating because the Gravity is always recording too, it's just not saving it for general use. I have 4 "horn" recordings in mine now. There's a little red arrow that indicates where the horn was honked in the middle of the recording, which means the horn didn't start the recording. It had to be recording all along.

I wonder if they're holding that back for a paid subscription feature at some point?

My assumption (hope?) is that the dash cam feature is just immature, and they'll improve it for everyone as time goes by.

1. Make more use of the fact that the car knows where HOME is:
For instance, the car knows my Home. It knows that there's a Charger there. It knows it's speed. And it knows that I have a Charging Schedule for that location. If it knows all these things, and I have a route planner taking me Home and I have 30 miles short, it should not guide me to a charging station for a 5-minute charge! Instead, it should simply take me home and I can charge the car there!

2. For route-planning, allow all of the route-planning to be done on the Phone App before I send it to the car. If I have an early morning road-trip coming up, I should be able to map it out the night before, on the couch, send it to the car, and just drive the next morning.

3. All route-planning should have a "round-trip" option, just like buying airline tickets. This greatly reduces data entry during the day, and incorporates charging stops for me to get back home safely.

You can tap the record button at the top of the dash, as well.

I would like to be able to leave the vehicle in "CREEP" mode instead of having it revert back to "STOP" mode after each use.
