I used to take heart in: "You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time." - widely attributed to Abraham Lincoln but without definitive proof.

Unfortunate, we are in the period of “you can fool enough people enough of the time” and select individuals and groups are taking advantage of that to distort truth (and sometimes spreading outright lies) to great effect.

The electric vehicle site deserves the lawsuit as the lies were stupidly blatant and verifiable. The scary part is that there are campaigns where this is not at all obvious and separating fact from fiction/propaganda is very hard. Stay vigilant and fact check everything, regardless of source!

My test: check the facts from opposing/many viewpoints. If they agree, it’s probably true. If they disagree, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Avoid echo chambers that simply reinforce what you want to hear.

I believe Robin Williams used the quote in one of his acts as: "You can fool some of the people some of the time, and j*rk the rest off." I think that's the tact modern media has decided to take over the last 15 years or so.

It is important to acknowledge that Wikipedia's content is user-generated and, while generally reliable, may contain inaccuracies. The reliance of AI systems on such sources for research information could potentially compromise the integrity of their outputs.

To me, the credibility of an organization rests heavily on a commitment to accuracy and truthfulness that is demonstrated by a track record of correcting when they get it wrong. Wikipedia has sometimes gotten it wrong, but they do a good job of correcting, and I've never heard of them stonewalling when an error was pointed out. Same with the new outlets that I bother to read.

I put more trust in a piece of information that was written by consensus of independent editors than a probabilistic LLM that'll give me different answers if I ask the same question a hundred times
 
What about Lucid selling DDP on Air and backing out, can they be served notice too?
If they are escaping from this i have no doubt this Electric guy also will have all the immunity. I agree what he is doing it not ethical but i dont think what Lucid promised us and delivered is what made most News channels believed him and Lucid is also 50% at fault.
 
It's about time Lucid took action against that sham "news" site...that can't even spell "electric" properly when supposedly reporting on Electric Vehicles. Hopefully Alfonso or whatever his name is stops reporting on Lucid unless he's checked, re-checked, triple checked, and verified what he (or his bot) are spewing out for quick click-bait. I'm sure he's reading this thread, btw as he's seemingly sourced previous "articles" based on threads in this forum.

Sadly, he'll probably shut the site down, hide behind "bankruptcy" and pop up as a new sham site called "Electric-Veecles" or something similar.

News channels believed him because he claimed to be a journalist and claimed he had reputable, verified sources.

Turns out neither of those things were true.

That is 100% his fault. Whether Lucid has or hasn’t delivered something is entirely beside the point.
