Gravity
Took delivery of a 2026 Gravity in late June. Major regrets.
1. Does not come with Homelink. Sales person advised I could use the $500 “accessory” credit for that ($350!!!). Was told credit would come within two weeks. Did not. Had to call sales to get a code. Called accessories and was told the credit is not eligible for Homelink! Had to call the dealer and they agreed to compensate me for that and they would connect with Service. Got a notice that I would hear from the service center in Chicago )I’m in CO. Sent them a message about why a Chicago center and not Denver (where I took possession). NO response. Tried to call customer service 4 hours before closing and was on hold for extended time, disconnected but advised they would call me. No call received! Called back next morning. No live agent. Had to leave a call back again! By this time, car did an update but now the data and location services sharing not working! Called, no connection to a live agent. Received a call back but not able to rectify the problem and was advised a service ticket would be issued (again, no follow up or reach out by Lucid). After 5 days, emailed service and two days have passed with no response. Just got in the car and see notice of software update but no way to initiate the update. Customer service is closed. I’m lost on an island and no one at Lucid has reached out, followed up or responded to communications. One of the worst client experiences I have ever had. They are not ready to compete with Rivian or Tesla

I get some of this. They definitely need a larger phone bank and many more "customer care specialists." Last time I tried to call them, I waited 10 minutes, was told that I have to leave my number, then got a call back (that I missed) 6 hours later. I called back immediately, got put on hold for another 2 hours with no call back option offered, and then according to their message they shut down for the night. Not a lot of "customer care" involved in that experience...

Yes. Sorry to hear you are having the same experience. Bumped into another local Gravity owner and asked him about Homelink. His solution was to go to Home Depot and buy a module to connect to his IQ opener. I’m sorry. It’s 2026 and this was a $110,000 vehicle built around technology. Shouldn’t have to rig an after market apparatus for a garage door opener. Had to dig out my old garage door opener and put it on the visor. Really Lucod?

Why can't you initiate the update? You do it yourself from the phone app. The phone app will tell you there is an update available. Open up the update notice, and it will walk you through the steps.

It's a bit baffling to me that Lucid cannot get its act together and ensure that customers who want Homelink have it installed at the time they pick up their vehicle. They also have a mystifying lack of information available about it on their website. For example, if you go to the Lucid home page, click the search icon, and enter "homelink", you get this:

No results

We couldn’t find a match for your search. Below you will find our trending and main topics

That's in spite of the Accessories link taking you to a page that shows the $350 Homelink accessory, but I guess that they decided the main site search function shouldn't cover the store for some reason, and also that searching doesn't need to be able to find all the features the vehicle has available. And presumably someone at Lucid is aware that Gravity owners have been complaining about Homelink confusion for a year now, basically the entire time it's been on the market.

All I can say is hang in there, the customer service is slow right now, but the new leadership at the company seems to be working actively to improve it.

Edit. I think it's better that I don't say anything here.

It's one thing if you want to nickel/dime your customers with these microtransaction shenanigans, but to do it this badly is egregious. This is the kind of thing that needs to change asap.

Well, Homelink is a brand new service that hasn’t really been rolled out widely to most automakers, especially on cars that are $100k plus. It’s an unproven technology that most consumers don’t want - they prefer to clasp an old fashioned clicker to the visor of their brand new advanced tech car.

It's purely my speculation, without any evidence, but I'd venture that these things are likely the results of the bad bean counters having too much influence.
I've seen it in my line of work, and wouldn't be surprised if it's true here.
I just don't see the engineers who've designed the two best vehicles in their class wanting to diminish their products.
By the same token, there's no reason in my book for the design teams to release their products prematurely.
Yet, when the dust settles, we don't hear of anyone but the engineering/technical team members departing.
But what do I know? I'm just one of many ordinary Lucid customers.
(and my apology to any forum members who happen to be in charge of counting).

Homelink has been around for decades. Most nicer cars that I have had over the past 30 years have had it incorporated for free. Usually a programmable button in mirror or visor. And nobody prefers to have to fish around the center console for an old fashion clicker.

Leftlane was being ironic 🙂

lol I guess I forgot the /s 😂

FWIW Homelink does come standard on all Grand Touring models, it's only the Touring model that doesn't have it and has to be upgraded. I guess it's one of the things they thought they could remove to cut the cost/price down for the Touring. They had to cut something to get that down lower.

I think Tesla charges the same 🤷
Actually if you have a compatible MyQ garage door opener, you can get a subscription for $179 for 5 years for a Tesla. This enables geofencing and thus automatic opening and closing as you enter or leave.

OP, you should caveat that you have the Touring which doesn't come with Homelink standard. Homelink cam with my GT and has been working since day one. As for software update, there are two locations to run it from. On your pilot panel, settings, and scroll down to software. Also, you can initiate from the app when you scroll down to software. I agree that they do need to do much more for customer service availability, and their CEO acknowledged they are lacking and they should hopefully be improving there soon. Feel free to ask questions or search the forum for help

Because my vehicle lost connectivity and my user profile somehow got deleted and the car can not share data or location. Spoke with them, they were to issue a service request to have someone come out but it has been two days and I have not heard from anyone or anyone in the service area.

Apparently the update prior to the most recent update did not fully complete so there is a glitch so the app can not connect to the vehicle

Thanks. I know they are in the middle of a shareholder release. Will want to look at that to see what they announce/disclose. It’s a great vehicle but the poor responses and customer service are taking away from the ownership experience. There are a lot of inquiries from people when they see it on the street (especially Tesla owners) and it’s hard to endorse the company or vehicle with this kind of experience.
