Lucid touring
Hello everyone. I have purchased a new air about 4 yrs ago... and it has been a fantastic car.. actually the best car that I have ever had. Ride, quality, speed, looks.... etc

Well... after all... I have decided to sell it. I don't know if I have made a right choice... but my concern was very straight forward. Before the warranty expires, I wanted to trade it in with something new.

Gravity vs Polestar... hard to decide due to big discount.... Lucid offered me a good trade in too... but I did not want to go thru the same challenging with Gravity just like how I had been challenging everyday with my Air.. standing in the parking lot until car recognized me... took rough 30 sec... and.. that was the worst..... worst...

and final decision was made because of 2 reasons.

1. It would be very very expensive to repair.. and warranty is almost expiring.. and they do not offer ext. warranty
2. software bugs..... I was just too too tired... of errors... and bugs.... ( polestar has a better stability overall)

It was a fantastic journey with the Air.. and I am letting it go...
I will comeback ... but after Cosmos is really updated and stabilized with software.. I would not go thru the software bugs anymore.. sick and tired of....

Last comment... Lucid autos would have been the very best if they did not have software bugs.... stronger airconditioning..... ext warranty... etc. Lucid still needs to learn a lot from other auto company. Maybe they will be in futrue.. then I will come back.

Thank you. it was very nice to be a member here.. trying to support Lucid in and out... and ..i have decided to leave... not the forum but the company.

Thank you for your feedback and best of luck on your new endeavors! How are you liking the Polestar 3 so far? That was my runner up for next vehicle until they were forced to leave the states (hopefully only for the time being, but we shall see).

Soon you will realize there's worse software reliability than Lucid. Never mind that your on board AC charger will blow every 4 months.

Thanks for sharing and all the best with your choice. I am not familiar with the Polestar but it is an attractive vehicle. As an early 2022 adopter of the AGT I understand your experience. I did not experience the HVAC problems after some initial sorting of the software and was never too hot or cold. Two cross country trips and lots of canyon driving in the Rockies and VT. The car is worlds better than my recent Panamera GTSs. My AGT was rear-ended recently and totaled. I am replacing it with a 2025 AGT under Lucid's Pre-Owned program. Unfortunately, there were no 2026 AGTs available and ordering a 2027 would have taken months. For me there is no alternative, although I did look at the Gravity, but despite the attractive incentives on 2026 models, it was not for me. As a former multiple Porsche and Audi owner I cannot understand why anyone would pay up for an S8, RSQ8, Taycan or Panamera, as an objective comparison of capabilities is quite starkly in favor of the AGT and for that matter the Gravity.

I will be trading in my 2022 AGT next week for all of the same reasons you have listed. I am purchasing a 2026 Mercedes GLE 450 SUV.

Reasonable choices above. We've had very few issues of any kind with our Gravity, including software.
It takes a long time for an online reputation to match current reality.

I came from a Mercedes GLE 63S prior to my current Gravity. From a performance, comfort, NVH, tech, room point of view, the Gravity dominates the GLE. But I agree from a financial basis, the GLE might make better sense. No, the GLE does not have great resale value but much better than Lucid right now. If you plan on keeping long term, you can purchase extended warranties (both factory and third party) and if you keep car beyond warranty, you can easily get it worked on by regular repair shops. The Mercedes dealership experience is also exponentially better than Lucid. Getting a service appointment is super easy and work is usually done promptly. The Gravity is my first EV and has me hooked. I am looking forward to what Mercedes has in store for an upcoming GLE EV. If Lucid has not turned things around by when my lease ends in 2 1/2 years, I might give Mercedes a second look.

Enjoy your new Polestar!

The 26 model year is the final model year for Polestar in the US hence the great pricing. There will be no MY27 in the US as they are exiting the market, not by choice...

The Polestar 3 is a very cool looking car. I hope it suits your needs and you enjoy it!

You can get an extended warranty for Lucid through X—Care - it might be slightly more cumbersome than directly from Lucid, but it can be done.

Agreed. There has not been a formally released support / service plan for Polestar after they leave the market although there are rumors that Volvo will be supporting them, but nothing definitive yet. Good Luck!!!

Good luck with your P3. Did you get one with the upgraded processor? I hope Polestar has improved their reliability. My first ev was a Polestar 2 and it was riddled with issues (both software and hardware).

I waited for Polestar to introduce its updated 800V version in the USA, but they never did. Wound up buying the Gravity for its range. The decision has worked out very well so far.

I have been going back and forth between buying a used Lucid Air or leasing a new Polestar 4. My Polestar 2 lease is up early October. The Polestar 4 lease deals were slightly better in July than they are in August. We'll see what September holds. The used Lucid Air delas are incredible also. Decisions, decisions...

I think the Polestar 3 is a very nice car.. However, buying one thinking it will be error free compared to your Air might be an over-reach... A service tech who works on Polestar and Volvo products told me they are sorting things with software and adjustments -- and with them exiting the U.S. it might you might not have much of long term service network. I surmise that Lucid offers a broaker base of service possibiliities over Polestar in the long run.

Polestar is just disposing of existing inventory in the USA. It'll take some care to find a Polestar 4 with the options you want as late as possible to get the best closeout price.

Best of luck with your 3. No doubt it's a cool looking car but I'd be remiss if I didn't share my experience with the brand..

I hope for your sake that my experience is out of date at this point, but my '21 Polestar 2 had the worst software stack I'd ever experienced, and it got worse with each update. By the time I got rid of mine the thing was rebooting on nearly every drive to recover the TCAM (mobile network radio). Weird stuff was happening too, like using the turn signal would change the sound system volume.

Aside from these relatively minor quibbles, I also consider it the most dangerous car I've ever driven. I had multiple occasions where the lane departure system would wig out and try steer me into the oncoming lane. Ok.. whatever, these systems are finicky... but with Polestar, there's no way to disable it! I went as far as emailing the Polestar CEO about it. To his credit his office responded immediately and had my vehicle picked up for a full analysis. I'm kind of close to their US HQ so one of their engineers actually took a drive to one of the locations where it happened to try and reproduce. End result - the system is functioning as designed. I really hope that design has been changed since then.

I have had a very solid software experience with my 2022 Air GT for at least 2 years now. Sorry to learn of your experience. My Air is out of warranty but has had no issues so I am not concerned, but of course issues may arise. You made and interesting choice for Polestar since they are exiting the US market after this year (forced because despite Swedish branding the car is made in China andChinese owned by Geely). They say that they will support the warranty.

Mercedes-Benz also has Chinese ownership issues that may threaten its ability to continue in the US market as well. Mercedes is almost 20% owned by China. Legislation being considered would set the threshold at 15% or less Chinese ownership to sell cars in the US. That would be interesting for Mercedes owners and dealers.

Fortunately my lease isn't up until October. There are lots of Polestar 4s on ships coming this way, so the selection isn't too bad. The lease deals in July had a better money factor than the August deals. I will wait and see what September brings...
